In order to correct the error I needed to already have a disc with the OS boot files on it, and the Windows 7 disc did not suffice

I got an error message regarding activation

All it shows me is "fatal error".Besides all these compatibility error with older model that could drive anybody crazy, there are a lot of annoying things about the system
