The frets were dressed noticeably better and the nut and bridge are made of nubone instead of a more brittle plastic

If you are serious musician - you'll probably be disappointed by the plastic strings and the lack of place to attach a strap.

The strings, however, are another matter as they are just cheap plastic strings that can’t stay in tune to save your life; that being said, I guess you get what you pay for with such a low price for the instrument.

The cheap plastic/nylon strings were a huge turn-off.

The quality of the kit is excellent and I do recommend it, as long as you go outside of Kala for your tuner needs

I considered the slightly more expensive KA-S (with the fancier binding), but I am glad I went for this one
