They like to make a simple products that's easy to setup, easy for a moron to use that is.

Very bad product

I will not recommend this product to anyone else because of the uninsurance and their bad customer service of how they handled the issue.

I dislike how the backup software works as well as the issues accessing it remotely, but overall it is a solid product for the price.

Seagate i think is a great product over all cause it works on bloth systems

I did it because I have had many great Seagate products and because with new technologies the problem may be on the customer's lack of basic expertise or patience

One thing that the casual user should be aware of is that this product is not secure at all, out of the box

Very nice product and speed is ok as long as it has a 100mbit interface I can get around 90mbits

But for recovering the data that we have lost because of their useless product is $600

The Seagate Central 2TB Shared Storeage Ethernet External hard drive is a good product in principal, but the application did not live up to my personal expectations

Now I did read over much of the owner's manual for the Western Digital My Cloud NAS product which by the way is a very comparable price, but more importantly, a much better product.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

This product really has no right to be called a NAS.

This is an awesome product

This is a great product, it replaced my old NAS devices and once everything was in sync, I don't have to worry about accessing data from anywhere and all my data from my pcs and Apple products are backed up

Good product but interface on iPad is not so intuitive

I bought Seagate Central to replace an old Acer EasyStore Home Server, great choice, transfers to this NAS are really fast even over WIFI, Samsung TV's in my house plays any AVI or MKV files that I have store on the central, my wife is very happy, easy to use, no complications, really great product

I'll never buy another Seagate product for as long as I live, and after doing research on the company, the huge failure rate behind their drives, and lawsuits filed... awful awful product awful customer service

This "expensive" product has been given for free to people that are more likely to consequently give it a high grade.

In any event I am raising my review to two stars, but this is NOT a user friendly product, has a large learning curve, I will reassess, after I have some time with it ... it needs MUCH better documentation and instructional videos

Apparently Seagate has accepted what an unworthy product this was and has created a brand new product to replace it: "Seagate Personal Cloud 2-bay Home Media Storage Device 4TB NAS

Transferred all my content over (right under 3TB worth [using the 3TB Seagate Central]) and even though it has a very slow r/w speed compared to most other drives I've used at least it actually worked as a backup drive.

I've rechecked everything on my network, everything is connecting at 1GBit per the router lights, and this is the only device on my network that is showing this poor R/W performance

Unfortunately, this device is S-L-O-W, as in REALLY SLOW
