This thing was always slow as hell for transfer speeds, but did its job as a data dump for a while

I purchased this even though I have heard not so good things about Seagate over the years.

Naturally, this thing loses connectivity prior to all the files being transferred

And, at that, maybe (maybe!) if you're using desktop PCs that never leave your network, this thing will do the trick

The thing is so gosh darned slow that I cannot use it as my iTunes library volume

The good thing is that TimeMachine will just see the network drive and add the incremental backup - which does not take long for each day

I can say with confidence that the Seagate Central is the worst piece of electronics I've ever purchased, maybe even the worst thing I've ever purchased

I purchased the drive a little over a month ago and thought things were going well, only to discover that moving even small files takes forever.

There's no way I'd trust this thing to safely and reliably store data.

However, once you log into the system to check out settings and update firmware, things can get a little confusing
