The SC is simple to configure, has great instructions and is a very fast unit for the money.

The vendor was pretty much no help, they said the unit was bad and asked if I'd would you like them to recover my data for a fee.

I would expect most unfavorable reviews are the result of getting a bad unit, or one that fails quicker than it should

I can't recommend this unit as it comes from China and it has a backdoor access programmed into it

Basically this is one real bad piece of news, I am not a geek but at same time no blur noble to hardware, this unit will drive a pure consumer to violence on the said hardware.

I must say for the price I paid I am really starting to like the unit

No problem using the unit for my macbook's time machine back up - would like lights in front to tell me it's working.

For one, if a hard drive fails, you are just looking at just the cost of replacing one hard drive and not a whole unit.

So even though the unit was easy to install, and the software was pretty good for viewing photos, I decided to return it based upon the IP address issue.

All in all, I would highly recommend this unit to anyone.

Unit has been working like a champ for me now for over a month.

Once past these quirks the unit runs well.

Sent advanced replacement unit under condition that I return the dead unit within 21 days or pay 180 dollars

This unit locked up and failed.
