INFURIATING!!!When you are not having these issues, it takes good photos

Nothing makes for a better photo than all that dirt and scratches on your lens because you didn't have a cap to protect it.

I had one made by Canon previously that took beautiful photos

I used the underwater setting, but did not use the different sub-settings, so the photos could have been better with more experience

The camera takes nice photos and is easy to change formats

The camera does a very nice WiFi interface with my Samsung tablet which can control the camera as well import photos from it.

The problem taking photos when snorkeling is if it is wavy, and it was, you are constantly bobbing around making framing a subject difficult

And even when I turned sharpening from 0 to -2, there were still artifacts around the edges of objects and in the "open spaces."In addition to the artifact problem, the camera took very soft photos

That camera from 15 years ago took much sharper photos than the current TG-5!Before someone starts thinking user error and newbie issues, let me say I have been in photography for 15 years

I have lower res cameras that ar 6 years old that take better photos.

Eventually I found that when I was in an area with 100% humidity the resulting pictures shown a distinct foggy feeling in them, as if water entered into the camera and blurred the photos

So I ended up with a bunch of crappy photos

Even when I set the camera on the counter and used the 10 second timer, the photos of the window, door and blinds were not sharp

Takes great photos and the closeups are amaaazing.
