But, it does take pretty darn good macro shots so happy with that.

This camera is not for the experienced photographer, but for traveler who just want something light and takes great shots.

Zooming became a very hard task and lots of good shots were missed because of that

The result has been some truly spectacular shots that you can't get any other way

Shots more than 10 feet away are not going to be great - until you get to panoramic shots of the sky, those are very good

I had some issues with the panoramic mode, it's not as good as my Sony

The camera also operated and focused very quickly, and I found the burst modes to be very useful for capturing the perfect moment

As mentioned by another review the macro and microscope modes are amazing

The telephoto control stopped working, and I had to pay 10 dollars to return it plus 45 dollars restocking fee

Pictures are gorgeous and I think they improved the stability control on this model

Is a replacement for TG-3, kind of expensive but maintain the nice features of its predecesors.

Lastly, while I know the camera has a better lens and new features, the user menu is so complex to use, just trying to set basic functions is ridiculously hard to find.

Before I start, I need to say that my previous camera was also an Olympus Tough series and that it WAS a great camera that I took everywhere even scuba diving with a waterproof case

Using this camera as a point and shoot on fishing trips -- This is the 3rd Olympus Tough -- or TG camera

Even in the best light about half of my photos are out of focus

If you use the flash, you end up with harsh lighting

Granted most people won't have one of those available to them but a really good light and magnifier work almost as good

Even the little LED lights are too bright and create terrible highlights that ruin the color and contrast of shot..

Battery life could be a little better, but not bad since I'm using the led lights for every shot in microscope mode.

Eventually I found that when I was in an area with 100% humidity the resulting pictures shown a distinct foggy feeling in them, as if water entered into the camera and blurred the photos

Even when I set the camera on the counter and used the 10 second timer, the photos of the window, door and blinds were not sharp

INFURIATING!!!When you are not having these issues, it takes good photos

The camera takes nice photos and is easy to change formats

Not so happy with the Olympus for selling such a bad quality camera

when I read up on this camera I saw where it said that the max record length was 29 minutes but that is for the worst quality video that you can shoot

(I have not dropped it since and have done something else as a wrist strap)The camera takes HORRIBLE far away shots, the zoom is poor quality, although I believe you can buy an attachment for the lens?the up close pictures are amazing though and can get very detailed pictures

Camera has F2.0 bright lens and in favorable shooting conditions produces crisp nice images

This lack becomes more glaring when you attach the camera to a longer lens.

A big step down from the old TG-860... fewer options (NO option to take mid-size 2G photos?!?), inferior exposure settings on Auto, and lacking the "selfie" flip screen.
