    Ooma HD2 Handset

    • Perhaps a tad expensive but, overall a nice handset
    • Love my Ooma great handset.
    • I love the Ooma HD2 Handset so much that I will be purchasing 2 more to replace my V-Tech phones.
    • In terms of features, I am happy with this handset as it seems to be on par with the HD1 and better than most other wireless handsets, though it certainly doesn' t offer what it advertises - smartphone features?
    • Until then, you are stuck with an expensive proprietary handset that is lacking many mainstream features.
    • They've done nothing to improve them over the past few years, and it is sad that this great base product (Ooma Telo) has such a weak handset to go with it.
    • Likely, it was a defective handset, but I wasn't impressed with it and decided to return it and hang on to my original 1st generation handset
    • I can't understand why a company with one product line cannot design a reliable handset.
    • Ergonomically, this handset is less than ideal - when holding the phone with your cheek and shoulder, you will hang up on your call
    • Much less than 90 days and the handset goes dark when the phone rings and locks up the Ooma system so it cannot be answered from any other phone either
    • An update, this handset lost connection to the hub and now won't connect anymore - reset after reset, new batteries, on the charger for more than a day now (so full of power) and still no connection to the hub!Another thing, I have all the connections properly in place (I have used the system already), however
    • This message essentially froze the handset again
    • I purchased two handsets to go along with our other two handset for the ooma tele... however I was not told that the two handset we bought only a year ago would be rendered useless by registering the new HD2 handsets
    • I've saved a load of money by switching to Ooma and highly recommend both this handset and their service.
    • It has a serious charging problem, will not charge, will not hold a charge, randomly starts to charge, generally the handset is dead.
    • Glad to recommend Ooma service, just use your existing handsets.
    • Overall, I do not like this Handset, I am returning it .
    • Overall, I like the Ooma HD2 handset, and would recommend it to you if it meets your needs.
    • The handset itself is solid - it feels like any other real land line phone.
    • As much as I like the overall OOMA service (5 stars), this handset is clumsy at best
    • This would have five stars, except for two reasons: 1) the handset is too smooth and easy to drop -- and when it's dropped, the tabs on the battery cover will break; and 2) the pins on the charging base have a tendency to get stuck, which prohibits the handset from charging.
    • I highly recommend this handset for any Ooma customer
    • cheap handset, buttons don't work well, luckily I rarely use it, have it for mainly giving my number to people I do not want calling me on my cell.
    • This handset is awesome.
    • If it weren't for the existing Uniden handsets which work fine when connected to the Telo, I would have dumped the Ooma Telo and its handsets long ago
    • The sound is at least as clear as the older handsets.
    • Very nice handset to use with Ooma
    • Perfect second handset for my home
    • The handset is great and really nice.
    • They did diagnostics and determined the handset was defective
    • Really liked it at first; the service provided is good but the handsets are terrible.
    • Overall this handset is super easy to set up to use on the Ooma device, lightweight, comfortable, and easy to use
    • Omma telo works well but this handset is horrible!
    • Coming from Ooma the remote handset is disappointing
    • The handset feels a little thick in the hand compared to most of the cordless handsets currently available.
    • This is a great little handset.
    • Like the handset.
    • Bought as a bundle with the Ooma base, and while the base works properly, this handset never did
    • If that doesn't work, then it's definitely the handset
    • I finally got all 4 working and experienced terrible range compared to much less expensive handsets.
    • Nice working handset, but kind of muffled audio.
    • The Panasonic cordless phone system I replaced it with is better in approximately every way, and cost $139 for the base and 5 handsets (did I mention that the Telo can only support 4 handsets
    • I love this ooma handset with my ooma telo
    • I also bought a cheap phone from Walmart for $12 that works perfectly and feels a lot better than the overpriced Ooma handset
    • This should not be a problem if you only have one HD1 and are looking to replace it, but if you have 3 or 4 then buying one HD2 handset would limit you to a single usable handset.
    • First, the good: This handset shows a banner on the screen when you have voicemails
    • Based on my experience, I would not recommend the OOMA HD2 handsets.
    • and I have to clean the base and the handset from the nasty acidic residue all the time
    • This handset is a huge improvement over the original Ooma handset
    • Good solid handset.
    • This handset is most importantly easy to read, the keys are larger and easier to use, I love the DND and Voicemail buttons and the battery is also lasting longer than the last handset
    • This handset is a great complement to your base station, much better than trying to use a regular phone attached to the base station.
    • -- I'm not sure that I can recommend the HD2 handset.
    • The directional navigation buttons appear to be the only way to use the Ooma-specific configuration and functions, which makes this not worthwhile as a handset
    • They are truly the worst handsets I have ever used.
    • I would not recommend this handset.
    • While I have been very impressed with the base station and the value it achieves, why bother putting out a handset if you can't at least get the basic functionality right.
    • I would not recommend spending $60 on this single cheap handset that isn't even necessarily better than any other cordless phone, I would actually argue my $25 V-Tech cordless from 2000 is better than this
    • Maybe in another product generation or two this will be worth buying, but until then use your Ooma base station with a nice Panasonic cordless handset.
    • I Love the Ooma handset
    • This is the second handset that I've purchased and they both died
    • Second, the handset has had charging problems ever since it arrived (less than a week ago)
    • Their handsets are bulky and heavy.
    • Good mid-priced handset
    • This would have five stars, except for two reasons: 1) the handset is too smooth and easy to drop -- and when it's dropped, the tabs on the battery cover will break; and 2) the pins on the charging base have a tendency to get stuck, which prohibits the handset from charging.
    • The HD2 is not a great handset, but for the price it is OK
    • I love the new handset!!
    • Also, the handset, while sleek, will not stand up on its own, making speakerphone use difficult.
    • I reach for my other portable handset every time...
    • These handsets are extremely fragile
    • I like these handsets too,
    • Ooma has worked great for our home phones, their handsets do what they advertise, make and recieve calls
    • I actually have given up on the device and went to walmart to purchase a reputable handset to plug into the box.
    • This handset is horribly designed - we keep hanging up on people and turning on Do Not Disturb because the Talk button is not in the same spot as EVERY other phone made.
    • I went back and forth for a while as to whether or not I should buy this handset to complement my Ooma Telo
    • This is a great handset, but by using linx devices, this was not necessary.
    • What's the purpose of trying to save money with Ooma when you have to buy a Handset every year to replace their crappy handsets
    • I'll contact Ooma for a replacement of this apparently defective handset and update my review when I receive a good unit
    • When this happens, the handsets (all of them) have lost their connection to the base unit.
    • I love Ooma service and the base station works well but this handset is disappointing
    • The handset felt cheap.
    • I am surprised that this version 2 handset has so many flaws, as these are all issues that should have been worked out long ago.
    • Perhaps a tad expensive but, overall a nice handset
    • What gives? The base station is ok, but this handset is absolutely terrible
    • Love the handset, but would like to get Ooma to work with my Amazon Alexa unit.
    • From the website it looked like the handset could do a lot of cool things but when it came down to it the short battery life and what feels like cheap plastics earned this a return trip back to amazon.
    • Wish Ooma would get their act together and come up with a decent handset.
    • Rather than accepting that the handset was defective, they'd just keep "fixing" the problem
    • I just can't recommend this handset unless the special features of the HD2 appeal to you.
    • The handset feels cheap
    • the handset is very difficult and uncomfortable to hold.
    • I returned this HD2 to Amazon for a replacement, in case I just had a defective handset.
    • Handset is nice
    • First of all, the handsets feel cheap.
    • This is an excellent handset for my use.
    • I had really hoped that this handset would indeed have "HD clarity" and be a good replacement for my Panasonic cordless phone
    • This could have, and should have, been a great handset but for some real bonehead decisions made during the design process.
    • Great voip handset for Ooma
    • Unbelievably, this "smart handset" does not allow pauses to be programmed into dialed numbers!!!
    • …the best handset I have ever used.
    • Great handset
    • Handset was easy to link to the main base.
    • Awful handset, sincerely just get anything else.
    • Once or twice a week I find that a handset loses contact with the Telo and it must be rebooted by holding down the red button.
    • These handsets are the WORST!
    • 4 handsets is enough for my home office, my living room, my wife's sewing room and one of our 3 bedrooms
    • This handset is much more stable and user friendly
    • The OPTIONAL handsets are ridiculously expensive and problematic.
    • In short, this handset exceeds my expectations.
    • I think I received a faulty handset
    • It's not that great a handset to start
    • The HD2 is a nice handset.
    • I want to like the handset, I really do.
    • And now my old handset is now incompatible with my updated Telo
    • (I like the ooma service, but I hate the handset.)You're stuck with this handset if you want a cheap way to access both phone lines or if you want to use the automatic-second-line feature (which I dislike intensely)
    • I should have paid attention to the reviews, these handsets are horrible and overpriced
    • My original impression of these units a little over a year ago: "These handsets are great
    • Occasionally all of the handsets lose contact with the Telo and rebooting them doesn't help
    • Ooma, please give us a better handset, with the clarity and features that you advertised
    • Overall I have been very happy with the Ooma service - I left a 5 star review on the unit/service - but in retrospect I regret buying this handset
    • This is a nice handset while it works
    • A nice handset, but with some rough edges
    • That seems horrible customer service to me, and nothing said only 4 handsets were supported
    • After the HD2 Handset new software is downloaded the old handset doesn't work anymore
    • A very nice handset to complement your Ooma Service.
    • and I want to cash in by switching this for a model that works as it should.
    • the hd2 handset works very well, and syncs well with the ooma device, as well as with the telo wireless adapter.
    • otherwise it would hit the garbage can as fast as you can say "goodby".
    • Works as it should.
    • In about 15-30 minutes, my contacts appeared on the HD2 handset, and they do work as they should
    • The call quality is just as good as with the original ooma handset - some others here have complained that the new-ish handset isn't really a quality call experience, but I believe this depends on where your telo device is in your home
    • The back is also scratched as if someone tried to reopen it after glueing it shut.
    • The phone looks good, feels good (as in size to hold in your hand while talking pervs)
