I knocked off 2 stars because: my Ooma device stopped working last Saturday (it's now Thursday) and although Ooma did have technical support available over this Labor Day weekend, their best support offered to me was that they would send a replacement within 3 to 5 business days

Now on my second Telo (update from earlier one) and would highly recommend Ooma for everyone

But when I hooked the Ooma to the Comcast system using their modem, the Ooma didn't work well

Ooma sets up your ported number (the one you want) as a secondary number instead of primary without telling you.

I'm really considering dumping Ooma even if I already paid for their equipment.

Even though Ooma advertised that the unit will work anywhere in the world, the activation code essentially locks the unit to the region of purchase, which I think is arbitrary.

On any long call, like a frustrating 40 minute call to customer service at AT&T, the Ooma will disconnect the call randomly.

I wanted to get away from Vonage but Ooma could not port my virtual number with Vonage and dragged for nearly a month

Very fast switch from current phone provider to Ooma.

In that case, Ooma tends to fall short because of the way their service is set up

Since this is my only phone at this time, a power backup on this unit as well a on the router would (hopefully) keep the phone operational in the event of a glitch or power outage

I don't get very good cell service at home so a phone service that is reliable was a requirement, as I sometimes work from home
