Ooma Telo Free Home Phone Service. Works with Amazon Echo and Smart Devices

    • After a lengthy hold time (with very garbled music, which doesn't speak well for their commitment to good quality audio for calls!), I was connected with someone who performed a line test and told me I had more than adequate internet service, but that she would have to escalate the call to a higher level tech who would call me back in the next few days
    • We went through a family hard time, some relatives or friends that we don't talk with day to day couldn't reach us
    • ) Reliability is poor and it fails in weird ways at bad times.
    • One negative: every time you contact customer service, they try to get you to buy their Premier service for $9.99 a month.
    • This resulted in me thinking that the person on the other end was interrupting me all the time, and vice versa
    • I cringe every time I get a "bargain flyer" from AT&T.
    • Several times I have experienced a glitch where the Ooma stops working (no dial tone, no calls will go out or come in) and a reboot is required.
    • Transfer old number $ 40 one time fee
    • When the time expired I wasn't billed for prime and wasn't harassed to upgrade to prime.
    • I tested through NOMOROBO website multiple times and according to them my phone is not protected even though it is suppose to be.
    • The central station would try multiple times to understand the transmission and finally hang up forcing the alarm to call again and retry the transmission.

    • Hopefully it worked this time
    • Then, I read so many accounts of people having a hard time cancelling if they chose to get their phone service from another source.
    • , I thought the line was dead the first few times I picked it up.
    • I gave it a last ditch effort and called one more time, this time immediately resorting to yelling and belittling the
    • Ooma is a one-time purchase (very affordable and paying for itself in several months)
    • My time is too precious to spend it trying to convince people who are reading a script that they need to give me my money back
    • Installing it was easy, getting the phone number was a breeze, porting your old phone number to Ooma can take time, patience is required.
    • So, all-in-all a frustrating, time wasting few months
    • Other times it seems to work fine
    • That time spent is well worth it
    • The few times I've had a problem with phone calls the internet was intermittent
    • Other than that, our Telo has been working flawlessly the whole time.
    • Spent years giving people a hard time about still having home phones, then needed one due to ATT deteriorating reception and working from home.
    • My transfer is taking its sweet time but that could well be the T-mobile MVNO I was using.
    • Don't waste your time or money if you use a Mac
    • I would never go back to crappy quality, overpriced time warner phone service again
    • One-time $40 fee for line porting is well worth it.
    • Setup was a breeze, and the one time I called them for a question the operator was helpful and friendly
    • So, all-in-all a frustrating, time wasting few months
    • MUCH better than Time Warner's $25 + taxes and fees.
    • Long time satisfied Ooma customer!
    • People had a hard time hearing me no matter what, and I heard random noises coming from the other line as well
    • To disconnect service you must waste your time calling them, waiting for the next available "service" person then attempt to convince them you really do want to discontinue service
    • I've wasted enough time with this idiots.
    • They then told me that hughesnet customers had a difficult time using Ooma.
    • I've wasted enough time with this idiots.
    • Each time, I was assured everything was good, the port-out was approved, and would be completed within 24 hours
    • I've called three freaking times about this!
    • Both times customer support argued that I made the changes and consented to the upgrade.
    • Many times I am at work, and with the call forwarded to my phone, I would like to add it to the personal blacklist from there instead of having to login through the web browser
    • I've have to call Ooma support MANY times about this
    • Sound as good as our T-Mo @Home service and it is only about $6 in telecom fees.
    • Voice quality is excellent; other end doesn't even suspect I
    • well i really like the 5$ phone bill ease of use ? took 7 days to port the number at a cost of 47$ all these added costs are not to my liking
