Ooma Telo Free Home Phone Service (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

    • The great features for free
    • Well worth the money just for those features, but the other features like second numbers, auto-forwarding on internet disconnect, etc
    • I've had it for about three years, so the $200+ dollars, plus an average of $12.50 per month for useful features; my "free" service has cost me about $18/mo
    • Free basic features will satisfy majority of users that do not need extended features @ $9.99 monthly premium service
    • It has a number blocking feature that is great for pesky callers of the telemarketing or political kind.
    • Voice quality (as long as my Internet link behaves) is excellent; in fact, there is zero noise (I often had low levels of noise on POTS).I also like Ooma's 911 features; you can register your home address and it will be displayed if you call 911
    • I went with the Premium service for my home office to secure the additional features.
    • The Ooma system is easy to setup with a polished interface and great features for a great price of around $14 a month for me (I subscribe to Premium for $10 a month)
    • With that price you get a few other cool features like call forwarding, caller ID, some type of anti telemarketer service, etc
    • The Premium service gives some cool features like sending a text when a voicemail is received, call forwarding to my cell if we have a network outage and blacklisting numbers.
    • Product is easy to install--easy to use, and has excellent features and voice quality
    • In the absence of such important features, the MSRP of $149.99 seems to be high for the features provided.
    • Had this up and running in about 10 minutes, great features, good call quality and an awesome price that realizes tremendous savings on the home phone bill
    • It has seamlessly displaced the archaic dinosaur of a land line phone company from my home, providing reliable service in every room, providing for free a rich feature set that by all rights should be standard and free by now
    • Getting an email with an mp3 of voicemails is a great feature.
    • I also love the voicemail text feature
    • Great voice quality, great features, easy to set up and use
    • I really like the feature of hearing my voice mail via email
    • The best features are accessed from a computer
    • Ooma has great voice quality and the features are awesome!
    • The do not disturb feature is one of my favorite
    • In fact, I had a service with a lesser known VOIP phone provider, and the features were far better than this one
    • This is the best thing since sliced bread the money you save on this thing is unbelievable all the nice features you
    • It has several features that I do not currently have with my phone company, and the additional features on Ooma are free, as opposed to additional charges
    • Has wonderful features.
    • The other nice thing is your can migrate your old phone number over (extra charge, but worth it) and have a second number for the fax, nice feature!
    • We were also able to keep our original land line phone number, a convenient feature.
    • Product offers great features, great reception/clarity, and very easy to use.
    • Love the extra features and functions
    • They do have to plans to choose from, one is the free plan and the other is 9.99 a month for a bunch of great features
    • great features and saves huge amount of money versus hard line or even cable phone service.
    • Some of the best features include adding numbers to blacklists, getting voicemails emailed to me and auto updates.
    • There are some optional features available through the Ooma Premier service which is only $10 a month extra
    • And if you don't know a feature is available, you may never stumble across it.
    • Awesome feature.
    • All in all, good phone service for a significant saving--about $26.00 per month cheaper than a landline, and more standard features to boot.
    • Enjoy the Premier features that allow the second line and other features
    • I really enjoy the feature of having voice messages emailed to me when I'm away from home.
    • There are many great features with premier, like call blocking, second line, etc but none that my parents needed.
    • The sound quality is great and love the many features.
    • We purchased this previous/older model because the reviews of the newest model indicated that, on average, this older version was better with better features
    • One great feature of this program is that whenever I make one of these calls and before I get connected, I get a brief update of the number of minutes left in my account, based on the remaining funds and the applicable per minute charge
    • Ooma has several nice features, especially if you subscribe to Premier.
    • As far as quality, I have had little trouble with my Ooma Telo, call quality has been good, but I feel for a VOIP service Ooma lacks some basic features that should be expected and the fact that they sell your phone number is EXTREMELY troubling because once it is sold, it is sold forever, even if you leave Ooma.
    • This is the best thing since sliced bread the money you save on this thing is unbelievable all the nice features you
    • It has several features that I do not currently have with my phone company, and the additional features on Ooma are free, as opposed to additional charges
    • Love the features on premium service, so I might keep it after a year.
    • I love the feature that I can forward calls to my cell when away from home.
    • and it's an important feature to have available in times of a power failure.
    • This works every bit as well, has the same features if you get the premium subscription, and is a fraction of the monthly cost.
    • I was surprised that the Ooma Telo actually has some very nice console features, such as telephone message review and deletion, with a built-in speaker
    • Great voice quality and features
    • the only word of caution is that they sign you up for trial of the more expensive features.
    • Super features in the premium package that I am still exploring.
    • I don't use cell phones or any of the fancy features
    • There are other features of Pro related to voicemail, etc, but that feature alone is enough for me to spend $10/month on
    • We set up the Ooma contacts, and have connected some contacts via Facebook, we really love this feature.
    • The features are nice, though you should not have to select their "premier" service in order to receive caller ID.
    • Only bad feature is lots of weird background noise on some calls
    • Very happy with call quality, there's tons of great features (I love the personal blacklist options). As far as the porting service, mine took about 8 days, not the 3-4 weeks they had told me to expect.
    • This feature is not available on Vonage
    • I now have local and long distance calling, call waiting, caller ID and a nifty call blocking feature
    • Others may like that feature though.
    • I have a 3-month trial on the "premium plan" that has some great features,
    • They love the features like caller id and call waiting which they never had before.
    • Another nice premium feature is we get our voicemails sent to us as an audio attachment file by email
    • There are some nice features with Ooma and the price is right.
    • I went with the Premier service which cost $10 month and provides unlimited long distances (US and Can) and a host of other features, including a second line and call blocking (my favorite feature)
    • You also get a very cool voicemail feature which forwards MP3 'recordings' to your email.
    • And more features available if you choose the premier option for about 10 bucks a month extra, including the name with
    • In short, we are paying far less for just as good voice quality and more features than before.
    • At $120 - 240 a year, this system was more expensive than some of the ones with which we may be familiar (MagicJack & Vonnage), but their features are wonderful, and they have excellent, helpful, available customer service
    • Now at $3/month or $13 for premier which has some very cool features this thing would have been paid off already.
    • Ooma updates you on the process and it was otherwise painless (ported from Centurylink)Now enjoying more features for less money than my old land line.
    • People with kids at home likely appreciate that feature
    • I have only paid the taxes of approximately $6/month since I purchased it, but now, along with a switch to lower cost cell phone (plus 4G LTE) service with H2O Wireless, I plan to expand to the paid $10/month service that allows some worthwhile features like call forwarding to email and call blocking.
    • I love the call blocking feature.
    • I didn't think I would be interested in paying extra for Premier, but it really offers some cool features such as blacklist and a second phone line
    • I like the blacklist feature that blocks an unlimited number of callers.
    • For the price you pay, you get the best sound quality, the great features and low international rates
    • Setup was very easy and the online features are exceptional
    • It has some really nice features that integrate with your current cell phone; I particularly like receiving voice mails as email messages.
    • A nice feature in the Premium service is related to call forwarding.
    • It sounds like a great feature and was a main motivation for my purchase, but the integration software is just miserable.
    • Premier just gives you more features like having calls forwarded to your cell phone, or having multiple numbers
    • There's not static, has good features, and best of all I can have my calls transferred to my cell
    • We are loving the features, where you can have it text your phone or email if you get a voice mail.
    • Well, the entire system is worth it, but I dearly love the blacklist feature.
    • I don't want to become accustomed to using the extra features only to lose them in three months, but I'm not willing to pay more than the approximately $5 in fees monthly for a "home phone."
    • Call quality is amazing, the service has cool features like emailing voicemail to me, and is super super cheap.
    • Lots of useful extra features
    • Seems unethical to get people to buy the device and start the service with a set of offerings and then some time later change the features and start charging for free features - UNETHICAL!!!!!
    • I love the features like receiving a text or email on my cell phone letting me know I have a new voicemail at home and downloading the same email on my cell is easy too
    • This feature alone makes it worthwhile.
    • The other nice feature for us is: she can now use her cell phone to call Canada (250 minutes under the premium plan) with no roaming or long distance charges to Canada
    • Beware of the confusing envelope looking icon on the screen which looks like a message but is actually the Do not disturb feature which sends all of your calls on both the Linx and the Telo to voice mail
    • The clarity of reception is fantastic, calling anywhere in America Free - If you want added features like worldwide it is
    • If you are counting on your cell phone as a backup in case of service disruption, then you may want to enable this feature or the "backup number" feature (which is similar, but only activates if it can't ring the Ooma). There is also one new feature from the Basic service that we really like: The ability to configure the number of rings before voicemail picks up.
    • After being raked over the coals by AT&T for yeeeeeeeears, my new consistent $3.80 a month phone bill is awesome!Call quality is excellent, features are outstanding and there is not much more to say
    • I may ultimately switch to premier, because for the price I think it has a lot of great features
    • I didn't rate this as 'love it' simply because Ooma's advertising doesn't explain that all the really 'nice' features and services are not part of the device purchase, but must be upgraded to use
    • You can change your device with the USB port which is a nice feature
    • High quality voice, lots of useful features, a real money-saver for me
    • Excellent features, excellent performance (1 month and counting)
    • Love love love the area code blacklist feature!
    • This unit works well, and the bonus of having voicemail alerts sent to my e-mail is a nice feature.
    • I purchased the premier service which has very good features ,i especially like the call forwarding text service which my local cable phone service didnt offer.
    • Good features
    • The Premier service offers some catchy features
    • GOod looking, good sounding, handy, and inexpensive for overall phone service! We enjoy all the features, just trying to get the right phones now
    • I like the additional features from the Ooma handsets, but they aren't really required
    • The online checking of voice mail is a great feature.
    • not enough features that I would use for the $$$$$.
    • Many great features, especially if you use the premium service
    • The other features like simultaneous ring were really just a bonus
    • I LOVE THIS FEATURE.
    • I feel foolish (little "f") for trying it
    • A free service as ituses your existing cable service, and all national calls are as free as e-mail
    • It works as good as an AT&T line, and at a fraction of the cost
    • Service is every bit as good as AT&T.What's not to like?
    • Just follow the directions and it works just as easily as it is supposed to.
    • Minutes later however the set up had completed and the sound has been just as good as with my ATT service ever since
    • Worked perfectly, we called several times a week and the connection was just as clear as if we were calling across the street.
    • The calls are as clear in sound as with my traditional service.
    • Your phone will still work as it did before.
    • I don't need cancelling a service to be as painful as
    • Note I have talked on Ooma when streaming such services as Pandora or Amazon Prime Videos ... as well as when playing an Internet-connected MMORPG
    • n’t be sorry!!
    • (I did NOT port my AT&T number for just that reason).
    • Beware the AT&T prison!Having said all that, the installation of the equipment, initial setup, etc went very
    • This works as advertised and has an insane amount t of options
    • Pros:1 - inexpensive monthly rates2 - excellent voice quality (no difference from standard land line)3 - No more money being funneled to AT&T - Hooray!!!4 - easy to hook up5 - extra phone numbers available6 - on-line system management7 - check voice mails from any PC, anywhere in the world at any time8 - Most important... use group blacklist & create personal blacklist to eliminate all unwanted calls - Sooooo nice!!!Cons
    • Except to say there email F/U to every action and question has been great and complete.
    • A free service as ituses your existing cable service, and all national calls are as free as e-mail
