    Ooma Telo Free Home Phone Service (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

    • Setup and number porting was very simple.
    • Telephone number porting was not painless either.
    • On Tuesday, Apr. 8 I submitted the online form to have my home phone number ported to my Ooma device.
    • I opted for Ooma's $9.99 a month ($120 a year) premiere service for the extra features and getting my old number ported for free
    • Including the Ooma (I got the older model; it's functionally the same as the new one, but less expensive), porting fee ($49 after taxes and fees) and the Ooma Bluetooth adapter for my cellphone, I will break even in about 5 months and then save $35/month after that - $420/year.
    • I had my number ported and they kept charging me taxes for 2 months
    • As soon as I finished the setup, I signed on for one year of Premier Service to get the free number port.
