The stupid "loading" forever issue is not an issue here.

I have all my home theater devices connected to a network switch, so the lack of wireless is not an issue for me.

Upon the advent of the Blu-ray format I purchased the Sony BDP-S500 Blu-ray player and was disappointed with it's painfully slow load time as well as software compatability issues I encountered when upgrading to a new high definition TV

I have a Roku, so the lack of streaming media is not an issue for me either

The only issue that I have with this player is the inability to turn off the region code locking when you play back DVDs.

My only issue was the lack of quality audio using the 7.1 analog connections
