All together I have charged batteries about 12 times before it died.

I tried to recondition my son's 14 year old Optima Red Top battery and have been unable to get it reconditioned because the battery obviously has a bad cell.

I was able to revive two depleted optima batteries - which would usually require a direct fresh battery to dead battery transfer to get the processe started.

Next, I hooked it up to two other (die hard, interstate) batteries which it charged fine

It did not revive this redtop Optima battery and despite battery not being in vehicle, it kept showing an overcharge >17 volts indication with accompanying beep

Charged my battery 100% little expensive but you will save money and time going back and forth to automotive places to get service for your battery !!!
