This is the 2nd one I have had, I like the unit it's just not very durable for the price.

I like the unit, but hate the service from Optima.

So the first unit I received failed right out of the box.

That unit was never dropped or otherwise mishandled

I used the second unit sparingly and now the LED panel doesn't work.

Unit worked for one day and then stopped working.

Took my Optima red top to a big chain parts store, and they told me their tester (probably some professional, extremely expensive unit) said it was dead, reading 3V. I left it there for further analysis

Unit failed after 7-months.

This unit has never failed me in keeping all of them in top charge condition.

That includes time spent in soft-ramped conditioning mode, for the final 10-15% of full charge.- Smarter than ordinary smart: This unit has separate setting for the following battery types - High Performance AGM (Starting and Deep Cycle) as well as Regular AGM & Ordinary Flooded types (Motorcycle and Automotive/Marine), and it dynamically runs them through 6 stages of charging, on an as needed basis: Analyze, a soft-ramped mode for batteries deeply discharged below 50%, Regular Charge, Conditioning Top-off charge, maintenance Float Charge, and a once per 30 days refresh lasting 3 hrs after which it switches back to maintenance mode

They stepped up and sent out another unit... when I let Optima know that, they made sure to send a unit as well!

Not being an expert this seems to be a well engineered unit.

The unit arrived as advertised, easy to use, works on all batteries, hangs from hood or is wall mountable.

I was using other units but this one works with any battery.

Display is hard to read as if its almost going out, unit gets very hot, did charge the battery...

This unit revitalized my blue top Optima that was not taking a charge from another high-end deep cycle charger.

Great compact unit!

Also, a great unit to have to simply keep your battery on when not in use to maintain charge.

this compact unit is in my garage keeping a bad gel battery i bought from sears fully charged so i can start my 03 Vette whenever i want

After several frustrating weeks and escalations I finally was shipped a new Optima 1200 with a prepaid return label for the defective unit

Nice unit and works very well with my red top optima battery.

Now, the unit is junk.

This is an expensive charger and while it was working, it was a great unit.
