There is an internal fan that comes on when charging at higher current levels, the charger can get somewhat warm when working hard

This battery charger is awesome, it has a digital readout with the battery voltage as well as the charging amps & works very well on both AGM and old style batteries

I used this to charge up both batteries and now they're working great again.
