OtterBox COMMUTER SERIES Case for iPhone 8 & iPhone 7 (NOT Plus) - Frustration Free Packaging - BLACK

    • It has two components to it, a rubber case that you put into your phone first and then a hard plastic case that snaps onto the rubber case
    • Even with the missing plastic pieces it is still offering my phone a great deal of protection
    • The only issue I have is the side of the case where I often grip the phone is a bit slick due to the hard plastic outer case, in turn making it easier to drop at times
    • The plastic on the bottom of the outer shell is apparently fragile.
    • Cheap plastic broke after a couple times to clean the phone.
    • Frustration-free packing was very convenient, as I didn't have to rip/cut open any hard plastic casing to get to the case
    • Love the soft inner case with the hard plastic outer shell
    • The hard plastic near the lightning port is too thin and breaks.
    • My only issue with OtterBox cases is that the plastic is to brittle on them
    • Enough rubber on the side to make gripping easier, which is a good thing since the hard plastic is a little slick
    • My only complaint is the plastic on the back can feel slippery
    • Very light and appears to be made out of the finest plastics available
    • Plastic backing broke after removing my phone from the case..
    • However, compared to the 5S version, this one is a step down in terms of "ruggedness".There is relatively less hard plastic in this version
    • There is a rubber exterior and a stiff plastic backing for support
    • I have owned several of these, the hard plastic outer shell breaks after about a year which OK with me because of the low price I don't expect more.
    • Only complaint is the plastic on the bottom broke off on one side after about 6 months,
    • Ended actually breaking the plastic within the first week
    • Rubber like inside cover provides cushioning and solid plastic outside cover
    • Only minor knock is that the hard plastic is very slick.
    • The rubber is durable, but hard plastic shell is slippery and apparently very brittle.
    • But bottom plastic near phone jack is not really sturdy, drop proof
    • I’ve dropped my phone a couple times and the very first time it dropped, the hard plastic shell cracked on the bottom near where the area to charge is.
    • My suggestion would be to add some rubber nubs or some kind of texture to the side of the hard plastic outer case for better grip.
    • I love this one more than the life proof case because you can touch the REAL phone screen, no annoying plastic
    • The only thing I didn't like is that the plastic slides easily if you lay it on a non-flat surface.
    • (11/4/17) the hard plastic shell is also needing to be replace and have to pay anoth $6 to replace
    • But there is no rubber there, only a smooth plastic edge
    • However, the hole in the hard plastic around the charge port is way too small resulting in almost any lightning cable flexing and cracking the plastic on the front of the phone towards the bottom
    • The only other thing is that while the rubber provides ample grip while not gripping to the inside of your pocket, the plastic is pretty slick, so it slides around a lot if it's not sitting on the rubber rim on the front of the case.
    • Love everything about it except for the fact that it is slippery because of the hard plastic
    • Only minor knock is that the hard plastic is very slick.
    • The case is secure, but the top half should be a little tighter with some of the hard plastic they did with the bottom half
    • And having 2 layers one of rubber & one of hard plastic helps absorb shock falls
    • I gave 4 stars due to visible scratches on the hard plastic back.
    • this case broke --the hard plastic part-- after a fall, in 6 months of use.
    • Last week, I noticed a corner of the hard plastic broke off
    • On the Commuter, the outside is mostly the hard plastic shell, which is easier to get in and out of my pocket
    • The only issue is that the hard plastic is on the outside whereas the flexible later to he’s the phone
    • Enough rubber on the side to make gripping easier, which is a good thing since the hard plastic is a little slick
    • The color is true to the picture, the plastic is smooth and comfortable to hold
    • Rubber case slips on first, then a hard plastic outer case
    • Unfortunately, I accidentally snapped the side of the hard plastic trying to get it off
    • The lower hard plastic, near the speaker and lightning jack, started to crack the last two weeks and finally gave way
    • It is made of two parts, one inner soft material, and a harder plastic outer shell
    • The commuter series has a rubber case on the inside and a hard plastic on the outside which gives me confidence that if dropped it would absorb the shock and with a lifetime warranty you can not go wrong
    • Hard plastic has broken in two places
    • Cheap plastic broke after a couple times to clean the phone.
    • Lastly, this is very minor, but the back part of the casing is made from a hardened plastic material that doesn’t provide much hand grip, especially if you have sweaty hands
    • The case is mostly hard slippery plastic that easily slips out of your hard
    • and it comes on two parts, one soft rubber inside shell and a nice solid plastic outside covering
    • The hard plastic shell piece lets the phone constantly slip off my leg when sitting, slid around on the seat when driving
    • My only issue with this case it the light color gets dirty and while the dirt wipes off of the hard plastic case it does not do so on the rubber parts and i am talking about the normal "dirt" ..in and out of your jeans pocket, your purse etc...
    • the back of the case if smooth plastic which can be slick in your hand, but that is no different then any other commuter case that I have had in the past.
    • Cheap plastic broke after a couple times to clean the phone.
    • The one flaw to the case is if take on and off frequently the the hard plastic case can break from stress.
    • While OtterBox cases offer some of the best drop protection you can find, the hard plastic outer shell on this thing is way too slippery to leave on a table or desk
    • This case is actually two parts as well--one hard cover but also a rubberized piece which covers the corners, so now I don't have to worry about the corners of my case breaking (as they have in the past).Highly recommend the Commuter Series!
    • Great as always!
    • It really showed me that they don’t really appreciate a customers business as much as they say they do on this front page
    • I like the black as it doesn't show any scratches etc.
    • The phone was in my lap and fell down as I got out of the car, which was about a 3-4 foot drop
    • So now I’m pissed because I spent mymoney on what was supposed to be a high quality case and it broke in about a
    • My iPhone 8’s glass back broke when in this case, from a 3 ft drop from my hand to the driveway (concrete)
    • n’t thank the otterbox enough for contributing to my phone surviving literally sliding off two cliffs.
    • n’t fit on my new phone that well
    • n’t lean your phone against anything and watch a video
    • n’t go wrong with an Otterbox
    • Easy and simple I like the otter box!
    • The Otterbox was a perfect fit and has protected my I phone.
