As long as you have your warranty number (which is imbossible to lose, it's the number on the white sticker inside the hard plastic shell), take advantage of the otterbox warranty

The slipcover is more of a hard plastic

I had an otterbox on my Galaxy S3 and it was great protection for my phone but the plastic was flimsy and the silicone cover stretched out several times and had to be replaced.

CONS: hard for people to hear you on speakerphone mode, headphone cover will eventually bend and damage your adapter plug due to repeated pressure, plastic cover that it comes with scratches easily and has extreme GLARE issues, latches of inner hard plastic casing start breaking off after several times opening it to clean inside of cover and it is difficult to turn volume up ( I have to engage the volume by pressing down then slide volume up on screen.

The hard plastic shell does prevent use of the fingerprint scanner, but I don't really miss it

The silicon exterior takes falls better than a plastic one which will break

The plastic hard shell is made with a thinner more brittle plastic

The rubber casing and hard interior plastic case can be a bit of a pain to snap on and/or remove, but you will get the hang of it after a few attempts (having fingernails help!).

The flexible plastic cover that it comes with does not do it any justice

There is however a slight issue with pressing volume keys however, the plastic is stubborn to move on top of the phone.

I was pretty excited about this product until today when i found a crack in the hard plastic

Protects the phone from drops well by utilizing a rubber outer case surrounding a hard plastic inner shell but: makes the outside very bulky.

Get the glass and not the stupid plastic stuff

This is super thin cheap plastic.

I have had other Otterboxes with that notch but on this one, the notch is downright annoying and cuts into your palm with the hard plastic.

The other is the rubber outside usually stretches out over time and gets loose on the inner hard plastic case

There are three pieces that all come together - you have to take off the colored sleeve, then take the hard plastic halves apart in order to put it on your phone

However, the hard, green plastic layer takes some extra squeezing and wiggling to click it in place

Fits the phone perfectly and all functions work as if the protective case isn't even there.

The belt clip has already broken as it stays in the open position and I have noticed that the protective screen scratches easily

Once I removed it, everything worked as it should

But some times the off and on button does not respond as well as if there was no cover at all

Outstanding protection for my expensive S-5

but I my opinion well worth it compared to the cost of replacing or repairing a damaged phone.

Love otterbox defender series, if you're asmart clumsy as I, it's worth it to have.
