I had an otterbox on my Galaxy S3 and it was great protection for my phone but the plastic was flimsy and the silicone cover stretched out several times and had to be replaced.

and I love them because they suit me and my lifestyle and offer great protection for my phone bought for my wife dad sister mom and they all loved

It may seem odd that I keep purchasing the case despite knowing it will eventually break down, but I typically don't keep phones for greater than 1-1/2 years; as a result, the case breaking down isn't necessarily relevant and still provides very good protection against typical drops.
