But it is enough protection that I feel the sides, back, camera and components would be protected in a basic drop.

Well, it definitely adds good protection without the bulk of many Otter cases- though I think it's still a little chunky compared to the most streamlined cases

Decent protection, not too bulky, and the front edge is taller than the surface of the screen so you can set it face down without the screen touching the surface of whatever it is on.
