A bonus to me was that its stainless steel design (and perhaps its grounded 3-prong electrical plug) means almost all of the grind actually leaves the basket -- I can pour it into a French press pretty easily.

We owned a different more expensive brand that was not even close to being as well designed

Better design than others we have had

I chose this grinder because several sites reviewed it as a good value for a conical burr (supposedly better than flat burr) and I liked the design, that it had a timer, and the ability to remove the hopper and swap out the beans
