OXO BREW Uplift Tea Kettle, Brushed Stainless Steel

    • You can hold the handle with your bare hand after the water has boiled
    • The handle works very well, picking up the teakettle raises the spout lid automatically for pouring
    • The water heats up quickly and the handle is great for pouring.
    • This kettle, when it boils out and overheats - the HANDLE melts OFF
    • The whistle in mine functions perfectly (it's a whistle, not a hum); there's never been a bit of rust; the handle only gets too hot if I boil a lot of water, which I don't, but I think that's true for most kettles
    • The handle/spout mechanism is superior to most if not all
    • This will help to keep the handle from overheating as well
    • The handle also gets fairly hot, enough to require use of a potholder to pick it up
    • In retrospect, the self opening handle seems like a questionable design decision.
    • A great tea kettle, holds the right amount easy to fill, nice whistle and cool handle.
    • In theory, the clever handle (lift the kettle, and the lid automatically opens) is a good idea, but if you're used to a standard kettle where the handles swings out of the way, this one might seem too awkward
    • The whistle is great, the handle is fine
    • I think I also recall complaints about a hot handle.
    • If you are not being careful and watching your "water level," when it starts to boil, it leaks from the top handle.
    • The handle gets too hot after water is boiling more than a couple of minutes
    • The handle gets hot so remove from range with caution, not as much as most
    • The handle and open-close action are still good.
    • The handle, even though rubber coated can get too hot to hold without some hand protection
    • First, you lift the kettle off the stove, holding, the thickly rubber-coated, stay cool handle (unlike other reviewers, I've never had a problem with the handle becoming hot), and then, with just a slight tip of your hand, the spout of the kettle automatically opens, allowing you to pour your water with
    • Eventually the screw would pop out and the handle would be useless.
    • Bought one 15 years ago and the handle became a little loose
    • The handle gets too hot after water is boiling more than a couple of minutes
    • The top handle slips off, and gets really hot
    • First the handle fell off, which I was able to repair, but shortly thereafter, the lid split into 3 parts!
    • The handle always stays cool.
    • The modern styling and features of uplift handle make it so useful.
    • It's very sturdy and the handle stays cool.
    • If you look at the top handle, its angled toward the rear.
    • The handle is soft and gently curved and the kettle does not slip when I pick it up.
    • I love the self opening feature, I love that the handle is far enough away from the spout that you don't get hot from the steam, but that it is balanced so well that it's not awkward to hold, and I love that the lid opening is large enough to fit your whole hand through comfortably to clean
    • The whistle in mine functions perfectly (it's a whistle, not a hum); there's never been a bit of rust; the handle only gets too hot if I boil a lot of water, which I don't, but I think that's true for most kettles
    • However, I have had this new teakettle less than a month and the handle is already starting to warp, as if its melting.
    • It's difficult to load with water, it's started leaking from the seams after only a few months, the handle gets hot
    • The handle gets quite hot, unlike that of some other kettles I've used
    • It is lighter aluminum with an aluminum cover over the water reservoir, causing the handle to get so hot during boiling you need a towel to pick it up
    • The handle stays cool and opens easily
    • The cover fell off, the handle fell off the cover, leaving exposed melted plastic, which smelled terribly.
    • This kettle is a great size, has a comfortable handle, is easy to clean
    • The new one worked great, heated water quickly, whistled loudly (but not too loudly), and had a very well designed ergonomic, insulated handle.
    • Love the handle tilt action which means if you take the lid off to fill the kettle from the top while there is still hot water in it, you won’t be burned by The quickly exiting steam because your hand is not in the way
    • With my new, 2015 model, the handle can get too hot to touch, unless great care is taken with pot placement and flame adjustment.
    • It happens to be a very cool handle and functional design, but any handle will over heat and even melt if you let the flames lick up the sides of the kettle
    • The spout melted, the lid melted and the handle gets too hot to hold
    • The water gets boiled quickly & the only thing that sometimes can disturb, isThat the handle gets a little bit too hot
    • The handle also gets fairly hot, enough to require use of a potholder to pick it up
    • The kettle's spout and mechanism that opens it will break apart as they are flimsy.
    • I bought the shiny chrome "stainless steel" model, washed before using, as they recommend, then boiled water for a pot of tea.
