OXO Stainless Steel Good Grips Steamer with Extendable Handle, 7"

    • Its stainless steel.
    • Apparently, like another review said, the threads of the screw hole is not stainless steel (as advertised) but a cheaper metal
    • Love the shiny stainless steel.
    • My cheap stainless steel steamer finally fell apart after about 20 yrs of use and had to be replaced
    • Had I caught Karen in time I would have volunteered to replace the ill-fated handle with a stainless steel eyelet, nuts, and washers from the hardware store and saved us the expense of the cheap steamer basket.
    • I purchased this for my giant stainless steel pot because I was going to make tamales and didn’t want to buy a whole new pot
    • Best stainless steel steamer I have used
    • Bought to replace a stainless steel steamer that I had had for nearly 35 years…
    • This all stainless steel steamer is great for all size pots.
    • I ended up popping the bottom center piece off to be able to remove the handle then used a stainless steel washer and nut with some locktite to reattach the handle
    • Good design but rusted with the first use!I thought it would be made from stainless steel
    • My cheap stainless steel steamer finally fell apart after about 20 yrs of use and had to be replaced
    • The thread in the handle base appears to be stainless steel, but the thread in the base appears to be a softer metal that corroded or eroded away
    • So, what I like about the Oxo comparatively is that, for a reasonable higher price: (1) the blades in my experience are sturdier, better attached, and do not come off; (2) the pop-up handle that substitutes for a fixed post can be unscrewed so as to not get in the way of scrubbing and cleaning; and (3) the stainless steel generally cleans more easily and thoroughly than the cheaper steamers either post or non-post, both on the top side of the plate and on the bottom side of the plate
    • We go through stainless steel steamers from the grocery store every few months
    • The only caveat, as with all stainless steel steamers, is that when cooking fish or chicken it will be a huge mess to clean up if you do not use a non-stick spray product beforehand.
    • I used it to cook small potatoes and eggs in shell together to make a potato salad--worked great! The steamer is stainless steel and the handle is extendable and locks into position so you can remove the steamer from pan/pot without having your hands close to the steaming water.
    • This stainless steel steamer is one instance where I prefer the steel over the silicone models
    • I am very pleased with the OXO Stainless Steel Steamer
    • If you have stainless steel pots, you may like it better.
    • It should not have rusted at all as it's supposedly stainless steel, and the overall quality/durability is lacking
    • Stainless steel and fits a small to large pot.
    • Seems perfectly fine, but probably would have preferred a steamer insert without a plastic handle, i.e. 100% stainless steel
