PANASONIC LUMIX FZ1000 4K Point and Shoot Camera, 16X LEICA DC Vario-ELMARIT F2.8-4.0 Lens, 21.1 Megapixels, 1 Inch High Sensitivity Sensor, DMC-FZ1000 (USA BLACK)

    • The manual focus is a touch clunky, but I do appreciate the focus peaking.
    • Picture quality is excellent up to 400, and in my opinion remains quite good at 800mm when there's plenty of light.== Fast focusing and fast determination of exposure settings and almost zero shutter lag, which allows the capturing of fleeting events.==
    • Here's why I took the FZ1000 instead:Pros- fast and accurate auto focus
    • Manual Focus Peaking works very well.
    • VERY fast auto-focus
    • On the other hand, zooming into 1080P content may lead to content that appears lower in quality (any thought folks?).The FZ1000's fast and accurate auto focus also influenced my decision.
    • It handles beautifully, with a great grip and lightning fast and accurate focusing
    • Worked fine initially and then when trying to take a photo, heard a succession of rather noisy focus hunting sounds, then a soft clunk, with an error message on the screen saying something like "Focus failed" I can't recall the exact words.
    • I've only had this camera for a few days, but have used it doing two basketball games at my grandson's school..results were amazing, exposure spot on, action stills in perfect focus.
    • The only drawback I can see so far is like the manufacturer states; you will lose some focus with the higher zoom levels, as to be expected.
    • Mainly using this camera to shoot kids and airplanes, I've had the following observations: - wish I had a little more telephoto reach, like 600mm - equally wish for slightly wider than 25mm, which is a bit cramped indoors (but that's where the LX7 comes in) - however, this combo of lens, sensor, and body is a trifecta for most uses - no problems getting my shots in any lighting condition short of black -- even the focus in low lighting is exceptionally fast and accurate - focus is crisp and this camera can catch the fast movements, but when I'm fully zoomed in, the sharpness falls off ever so slightly - I'm puzzled by why Pana left of the electronic ND filter, although i could go old-school and thread one on the end - the colors out of the camera seem spot on -- particularly impressive are the very natural redsThe high resolution, articulated, BIG LCD display is a huge improvement over the antique-looking FZ50's LCD, and very good even outdoors in bright daylight (though still tough to see when washed direct sunlight)
    • I so much complain about the a6000 having very poor macro and flash focusing accuracy with the motorized zoom lens
    • Excellent performance in indoor photographyI originally got this cam because I wanted to take pictures indoors under normal levels of artificial light with ultra rapid focus and exposure control.
    • The lens performs well and auto-focus is the fastest of any camera I've ever used.
    • Focus is fast
    • Manual focus mode is excellent, with the high resolution EVF, decent subject magnification, and focus peaking (the highlighting of what the camera thinks is in focus) to make this hands-down the most usable manual focus I've used since last film camera (
    • Takes great 4K video for the price, big sensor, fast accurate focus, and worth every penny.
    • I can now zoom out to 400mm, manually focus and then shoot with 100% certainty that my subject far away is in perfect focus.
    • Fast Focus - easy to photograph my busy 3 year old grand daughter
    • It also has a very nice manual focusing system with a large focus ring around the lens
    • Excellent picture quality, very fast auto focus, excellent zoom
    • all the way in took a great, well-focused shot of an airplane
    • The manual focus is a touch clunky, but I do appreciate the focus peaking.
    • I have never owned a camera which made such a loud noise when focusing, maintaining focus, and zooming
    • the FZ is no good for outdoors: too many buttons you do not need for a quick shot, poor focus for zoom over 200 and AFC does not keep up
    • This *really* causes headaches when I'm trying to focus close-up shots, because focus is tricky in that situation anyway.
    • Fast startup, fast focusManual focus with magnification and fine focus ring on the lens, or fine zoom ring depending on the setting
    • 1 or 2 stops higher); detachable lens (but the lens on it is pretty versatile); improved auto focus at further distances (it doesn't always focus right in on faces).
    • , it's sharp throughout the entire zoom range and the focus is amazingly fast
    • Even in instances where bokeh was similar, shading in the blurred areas was blown out on the 300’s shots, but not the 1000’s
