Being new to this kind of hand cannon camera, after a month of use I decided to get a screw on UV filter to protect the large lens, which is something I never thought about with pocket-sized point-and-shoot cameras before.

So I got the FZ1000 - with the hopes that the large sensor super zoom could give me good image quality and have a wide enough lens range so that I never felt bad about not having an interchangeable lens camera

zoom lens immensely improve the ability to take good pictures, because one can often get closeups of subjects that would be hard or impossible to get close to, and because one has much more flexibility in determining what to include and what to exclude from the picture

There is nothing else out there that can shoot 4k and 120FPS 1080P for this price range, plus you get very nice video features and a nice long lens

I do like the LX100 in that it has a brighter lens, where the FZ1000 is dim or black in very low light

Even in instances where bokeh was similar, shading in the blurred areas was blown out on the 300’s shots, but not the 1000’s
