PANASONIC LUMIX FZ1000 4K Point and Shoot Camera, 16X LEICA DC Vario-ELMARIT F2.8-4.0 Lens, 21.1 Megapixels, 1 Inch High Sensitivity Sensor, DMC-FZ1000 (USA BLACK)

    • great image quality and lots of features.read the reviews and look at the test shots done at higher iso's. instead of carrying a lot of
    • But learn how to use the tools you have to get the best out there and anyone with this camera will get better image quality
    • I do recommend this camera, but think also the LX100 would also be essential if you do not need the very long zoom, want outstanding photo quality, do not need an external microphone, and shoot in very low light where f1.7 comes in handy
    • The camera itself is quite nice, with surprisingly decent image quality, dynamic range, and sharpness at all focal lengths
    • If other factors like low light capability, accurate automatic white balance, crisp still photos, great sound and solid build quality are important, there are better choices available
    • However, I enjoy the quality of the photos and easy interface
    • I was not at all expecting such poor quality results in low light.
    • If you are upgrading from the Lumix Fz200 and looking for better image quality
    • great quality photos and video for the money
    • The quality of the still pictures and the video is amazing
    • It has 16X optical zoom, 1 inch CMOS sensor, great hand grip, good Leica lens, excellent photo & video qualities, 4K video option, flip out rear LCD viewfinder, optical view finder sensor, very bright optical OLED viewfinder, fairly easy to use menu system, variety of scene modes and overall rather easy to use as a point & shoot camera
    • indoors and out, did closeups, used partial and full zoom and finally used macro... FINAL RESULTS: at least 75% of photos taken with my FZ200 were clearer, finer quality and had better color than those taken with FZ1000
    • Excellent image quality, excellent wide and zoom reach, ois, stunning jpeg images and a feature filled camera
    • Low light capability, good photo quality, hefty build quality and audio quality
    • The auto focus on this camera is absolutely speedy fast!!The zoom is rather short by today's standards with digital bridge cameras, but the good photo qualities should make up for some of the zoom lens size shortfall
    • The still photos in the video are good quality but not as good as the camera normally takes, but they are good for snapshots.
    • Pictures were not sharp enough, very poor quality in low light
    • For those who are fine with the FZ1000's size/weight, and are looking to upgrade to a more serious camera than their point and shoot, entry-level 2-lens DSLR/ILC kits from multiple manufacturers are cheaper, and offer significantly better image quality, not to mention a clear upgrade path in the future
    • This new largie Panasonic is the jack-of-all-trades; lighter than a DSLR, very good zoom as in a few older compact super-zooms (like the HX9V--still own that one but is very slow), takes very good-excellent stills, excellent video quality even in low light, great performance, good/familiar plastic body quality (mainly why it is cheaper than Sony's RX10), good-not-great f2.8 aperture, and the ability to record great sound with internal microphones as well as external one
    • and I noticed that each camera box appeared to have been old or used as I suspect those were refurbished but still defective in producing quality clear pictures.
    • If the quality of the jpegs come out this well with just the camera making all of the shutter, aperture, etc
    • Pictures were not sharp enough, very poor quality in low light
    • Looks like 4K is still on the way and you can not expect good quality video from low cost camera
    • In my experience, one can zoom up to about 150% with reasonable final video quality
    • Granted this one has 4k but still picture quality is just bad
    • Kits from the previous generation (e.g. a D3200) are almost $350 cheaper, and offer the same benefits in terms of improved image quality as their latest generation counterparts, at significantly lower cost
    • Although (like virtually every camera) the 1000 works best when there's great lighting, and you use the middle of the zoom range, I've gotten decent image quality under stage lights, dusk, clouds, and indoors, using both ends of the zoom
    • Low light capability, good photo quality, hefty build quality and audio quality
    • The main features that were appealing to me were the 4K/UHD video recording, internal timer for time-lapse shots, slow motion video recording, LCD screen that flips-out and rotates and the larger MOS sensor that highly improved the quality of the low light (high ISO) night shots compared to my previous camera
    • High quality images, like a pro, even for an amateur
    • The (supposedly) Leica designed lens does offer reasonable quality across the range, within appropriate expectations
    • Better quality images, less depth of field when desired for telephoto shots, etc.2.
    • Great quality camera for your buck
    • You loose some image quality from APS-C
    • Excellent picture quality, very fast auto focus, excellent zoom
    • So I got the FZ1000 - with the hopes that the large sensor super zoom could give me good image quality and have a wide enough lens range so that I never felt bad about not having an interchangeable lens camera
    • Very impressive 4K. Slow motion smooth but not good quality - does not look
    • One comparison that the specs don't really tell you is that the build quality is significantly worse in the Panasonic compared to the Sony
    • The SHD mode produces better quality images, if the subject warrants fixed focus and can be timed to 1 second
    • I can "zoom" in to 150% or so with very good quality video and sharpness.
    • This, then, is the approach I'll be using in this review: how does the FZ1000 stack up against the ideal of delivering reasonable image quality for an advanced amateur, in a single, compact package at a $900 price point?UPDATE based on feedback: My main concern in this review is with how the FZ1000 performs *as a
    • Oh, but even though the quality is decent, it is a drawback from the LX7 that could take 3.5 MP stills, whereas the FZ1000 (and possibly LX100) do 2 MP stills
    • Summing up:If you are looking for very good image quality, maximum control and real convenience, choose the FZ1000
    • The EVF (Electronic View Finder) has 2.4 million pixels and is very good quality.
    • Not that any still during video recording on any Sony was ever good quality though, because it would look like Pablo Picaso was doing his work of wonder on the sensor (pun intended
    • It feels comfortable on my hands and though the zoom lens is a little slow the quality is quite nice
    • I got the FZ1000 so far I am loving it except the built quality is plastic fantastic, though it is Made In Japan
    • For the first time ever I have one camera that can shoot really high quality video and nice stills in one package
    • With the one-inch sensor on this camera and up to 400 millimeter lens you still have the digital Zoom capability, maybe not as far-reaching as the Nikon but gives you a well extended super zoom with better image quality in this camera
    • Normally I never use any form of Digital Zoom as it destroys the picture quality.
    • The poorer build quality of the Panasonic is reflected in the price, so you get what you pay for
    • I wanted a point and shoot camera with great image quality and high zoom capability.
    • The still photos in the video are good quality 8 MP but not as good as the camera normally takes at 20 MP, but they are good for snapshots, especially since you often "miss" those best facial expressions when taking stills but not when extracted at 8MP from 4K video
    • This does not have as good a quality as a full frame sensor camera.
    • Takes good quality pictures.
    • I always use a better quality Neoprene strap.
    • With it's incredible versatile lens, great image quality, and many creative settings, there is a lot to explore and love.
    • If you want to use it for sports, you will want to reserve closer to front-row seating, so that the limited zoom is not an issue, and you can get better image quality and close-ups in a much more compact body
    • I like the heft and size, myriad buttons and knobs for customization, and especially love the quality of the pictures
    • Only negative is the material quality of the body
    • so it's not really a mark against it, but it would be nice if it works as they are
    • I wanted a camera that was great for recording video as well as for taking stills.
    • I used it for sports, landscape, low light, and in bright sunlight and the images are as good as
    • So far, everything is working as of February 7, 2016.
    • n’t be sorry!
