PANASONIC LUMIX FZ1000 4K Point and Shoot Camera, 16X LEICA DC Vario-ELMARIT F2.8-4.0 Lens, 21.1 Megapixels, 1 Inch High Sensitivity Sensor, DMC-FZ1000 (USA BLACK)

    • It's not a super zoom, although, I might be asking for too much for this price
    • It is really cool to take a pic of something close up and then again all the way out and the depth of zoom blows people away.
    • But what I really needed was something with a good zoom and still take great pictures and not have to carry a lot of lens and garbage around with me
    • The focus ring around the lens only works smoothly when turned briskly, which results in a very rapid zoom
    • Zoom works very well, very fast, and takes 4K video
    • I have a soft spot for super zooms and am always looking for "the one" that is the best compromise between quality, focal length, and size/weight
    • That long zoom and super fast burst mode is perfect for shooting a lot of kids running around
    • Very good zoom with stabilization
    • 400 mm for strong zoom from powerful lens but shots at the full 400mm can look average to poor when using the Auto mode
    • Limited super zoom, but it shoots RAW.
    • So, a slow zoom in or out is not going to happen without a fight.
    • The zoom on the camera lens is not as fast
    • We needed a picture with both good zoom, and good up close
    • The zoom is great and the camera is very fast.
    • Zoom was poor for me.
    • But if you a SUPER ZOOM enthusiast and already have the FZ200
    • But if you a SUPER ZOOM enthusiast and already have the FZ200
    • I have a dreadful aversion to digital zooms
    • And combined with excellent lens and quite amazing stabilization technology, I can see how this FZ1000 continues to be rated as one of the BEST long zoom cameras.
    • I like its long zoom, although I do miss not having a super zoom.
    • As an aside, I also tested the Canon G3 X briefly, and the greater zoom range was basically the only thing I liked about it.
    • The iphone camera gets better with every revision - however, can't compare to this camera - especially regarding the zoom and taking pictures in lower light scenarios.
    • Zoom is incredible and produces bokeh that looks far better than my Canon with a 2K lens on it!
    • The powerful zoom has very little distortion and focusing has never been so fast and easy.
    • I received a defective unit (zoom lens stopped working after an hour), and have had the replacement since December, 2015.
    • This new largie Panasonic is the jack-of-all-trades; lighter than a DSLR, very good zoom as in a few older compact super-zooms (like the HX9V--still own that one but is very slow), takes very good-excellent stills, excellent video quality even in low light, great performance, good/familiar plastic body quality (mainly why it is cheaper than Sony's RX10), good-not-great f2.8 aperture, and the ability to record great sound with internal microphones as well as external one
    • I might consider buying that model in the future, but for now, the main reason that turned me away is the limited zoom
    • Zoom works very well, very fast, and takes 4K video
    • It's truly a groundbreaking bargain when you think about the FZ1000 as an affordable 4K camcorder that just happens to have an incredible zoom range, high quality EVF, flip screen, and takes great still photos
    • FZ150 was a marked improvement over the FZ100 for image quality and provided a nice zoom, but the image quality wasn't meeting my expectations.
    • much lighter than the DSLRs.- fast startupCons- need a good sd card for 4k ;)- the zoom in/out is a little slow
    • I like its long zoom, although I do miss not having a super zoom.
    • I like Lumix cameras a lot, and was looking for a single lens camera that could shoot close ups, but also had a great zoom
    • * Internal noise on the lens while zooming and
    • The zoom is surprisingly usable thanks to very solid
    • Limited super zoom, but it shoots RAW.
    • The zoom is surprisingly usable thanks to very solid
    • Overall I'm liking the FZ1000 a lot more than the RX10Compared to the FZ200, recent FZ super zoom
    • I wanted a camera that had the feel of an SLR in hand, a decent zoom, and a good sensor but without any interchangeable lens capability.
    • The Zoom also gives you the advantage of multi track recording, so you can make your good recording there and send the audio to the camera just for lining them up in post (scratch track).Other ideas - I think a Zoom H1 or DR05 or DR07 would all be good matches for this camera.
    • I also read that zooming into 4K video content can lead to great 1080P content.
    • Excellent picture quality, very fast auto focus, excellent zoom
    • So I got the FZ1000 - with the hopes that the large sensor super zoom could give me good image quality and have a wide enough lens range so that I never felt bad about not having an interchangeable lens camera
    • Great Bridge Camera wonderful handling and excellent zoom lens with 4K Video buy one whenever you can!
    • I've tried many other super zoom cameras include other Panasonic enthusiast models like the FZ300
    • The "remote" socket is NOT LANC compatible (tested that one a bunch), so the smoothest zoom will come from very careful use of the manual controls or the app.
    • It is a 1 inch sensor, has good zoom range, decent aperture size, image stabilization (you only get this on the Nikon D3200 with $700+ lenses), 4k Video, 4k Photo screen grabs, and RAW.
    • large-Limited zoom ringIt’s clearly a more serious camera than Lumix DMC-FZ200, but compare it to a closer rival like this one
    • The overall sharpness is not that great at 400mm, even for a super zoom.- When using it with studio strobes, the screen will black out when locking focus
    • It did not have enough zoom to suit me.
    • The zoom is controlled electronically, and goes in steps, making it impossible to do a smooth video zoom, and also making it impossible to control the zoom speed (too fast for most video purposes, and slow for still photography).
    • This cam is very good at doing this when it is in automatic mode, yielding amazingly good hand held pix in poor light, at incredibly low shutter speeds like a quarter of a second, without a tripod, because of superlatively strong image stabilization, and this happens even at substantial zooms like 200mm.
    • PROSExcellent image quality and impressive (16X) zoom range
    • Sure, the LX100 is small, but zoom and lack of microphone input were too important to be a dealbreaker for me, even though the large size of the FZ1000 is a bit awkward though tolerable
    • The main advantages of this camera is the ability to shoot stellar video with a versatile zoom lens (25-400mm)
    • Easy to carry a good zoom (which I have to change my lenses).
    • I love the video option and zooming and focus are all pretty fast.
    • With the one-inch sensor on this camera and up to 400 millimeter lens you still have the digital Zoom capability, maybe not as far-reaching as the Nikon but gives you a well extended super zoom with better image quality in this camera
    • I loved the zoom.
    • The ring for the manual zoom/focus control does not actually control these functions mechanically (as it may appear when you first see the camera) but only electronically, so it does not provide the level (and the feeling) of a fine control over the zoom or focus as one may expect (the zoom is jumpy or uneven when controlled with the ring).• Video-recording time limitation (the maximum continuous video recording time is 29m
    • I reviewed several other digital cameras, but this camera has all the bells and whistles(more than I will probably use ) along with a great zoom, and a quality lens.
    • Fast startup, fast focusManual focus with magnification and fine focus ring on the lens, or fine zoom ring depending on the setting
    • Great zoom ratio, super sharp lens, all the bells and whistles yet full manual control if desired.
    • Excellent optical zoom
    • Digital Zoom on this camera is also very good
    • The progressive zoom toggle switch that
    • I picked this camera because I wanted something with a decent zoom, good burst, and high quality images.
    • The HS50 is a great camera in a lot of ways, and I really miss the manual zoom, but the 1/2" sensor just couldn't capture the detail that I wanted, and was very limiting in terms of noise and DOF.The Panasonic FZ1000 has been great so far
    • The Panasonic smartphone app does permit a smooth zoom, but it's still very fast, and it only works with Wi-Fi, which doesn't help much in the field
