That's a minor inconvenience, but would not keep me from recommending this player as a reasonably-priced, multi-featured, and easy-to-use alternative to a Roku box.

It seems like there may be too many features for the microprocessor, as the device constantly freezes up and won't respond to the most basic commands (either from the remote or from the buttons on top).

If your are currently in the market for a new TV, do yourself a favor and buy a non-smart TV that has 3D. You can connect this player to your TV and it will basically give you all the smart-TV features you need

Wish the remote had buttons for zoom (there is no zoom, and none on any Blu-ray player I've had or researched), and subtitle (have to go through an on-screen menu to activate this, but it does allow you to change position of the subtitles, a feature not available on any other player, including other Panasonics), but the player itself is just superb.

We can sit in the evenings and watch programs easily with this player, and if you are watching a television series in succession, this will auto-play each episode through each season, which is a great feature if you are in marathon mode

I've had this receiver hooked up for about a week and it seems to play all of the movies i've recorded and non HD movies,I don't know if i'm seeing things,but it seems to bring the full quality out of a non HD disc,when it comes to Blue ray discs,i'm very happy with the quality on those,there so clear and sharp,as for the wifi updates i'm not sure as i'm in the process of trying to get the wifi
