BUT the erasers fall out the pencils so easily

Every eraser fell out.

I use them daily, just make sure to leave them in a small pencil pouch, or the box, because the eraser falls out easily and you lose your lead.

In the end, deciding to continue with the varity I generally use versus changing to the Paper Mate Mates exclusively it will be a trade off between price and uncomfortable feel versus great lead and very good erasers.

Keep this pencil in a zipped up pocket, or you will loose the eraser the first day.

Lead advances nicely, eraser is a little weird, it ists in a plastic holder, instead of the pencil base, so you lose about 1/2 of the eraser, buy other than that, love these

So to sum up, these are on par with traditional pencils for led breakage, but surpass traditional pencils with the ease of use (no pencil sharpener!) and replaceable erasers.

I always hated the tiny eraser at the end of mechanical pencils, these pencils give you a nice big one

The eraser is nice and is in the same triangular shape as the pencil which makes it easy to erase smaller details with the point of the eraser

The only real problem is the eraser, on most paper it is not good erasing especially when little boys are trying to get homework done fast.

They need to be making the same quality of pencil, but with a white, latex free, hi-polymer eraser that is available.

One thing I have noticed is that their erasers don't work well on certain types of paper which can be annoying

That said for myself, if you don't mind the feel of these Paper Mate Mates Mechanical Pencils and they aren't too much for your budget, the lead is a great quality and after all 'writing' is what a pencil is mainly about, and too the erasers are great, and unfortunately most of us do often make mistakes.

It took me awhile to realize it was her favorite because the lead didn’t break nearly as much as with other mechanical pencils

Only mechanical pencil I will use because it doesn't break off as you write.

The points are not as sharp as you get with sharpened wooden pencils and the triangular shape is much easier to grasp and hold in proper writing and drawing position that the average wooden pencil.
