PDP Wired Fight Pad for Wii U - Yoshi

    • It's not really my thing to just replace bad parts on a controller (or anything for that matter), but my dad can get kinda competitive in Super Smash Bros. for Wii
    • and and the right analog worked on the side smash but not the up and down smash
    • and and the right analog worked on the side smash but not the up and down smash
    • Another disappointment is that Smash for Wii U maps out the controls differently from Melee/Brawl and you have to manually change the controller profile to get things behaving the way anyone would intend to use them
    • I let my 11-year-old son, the real Wii U expert, try this one out; we played a couple of games together including Super Smash Bros and Injustice.
    • Otherwise it works much like a classic controller in regular games, even though it's designed for fighting games like Super Smash Bros. - Nintendo Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Brawl
    • These do NOT make use of the Super Smash Bros. Gamecube adapter, just in case you were wondering.
    • As of the date that I am writing this review (11/11/2014), I know that there is the hype for the upcoming new Super Smash Bros. coming in for the Wii
    • Top Smash Bros. Melee player, Jason "Mew2King" Zimmerman who asks a crucial question
    • I got this for my fiancé so we could play super smash brothers
    • Although we don't have Super Smash Bros, we have a Wii and a Wii U and lots of Nintendo games that require the classic controller
    • This review is from a competitive Smash Bros. player
    • I've been playing Smash 4 for about two months now and prefer the Wii U Pro controller over this
    • I have logged about 8 hours of aggressive Smash Brothers on the Mario and Peach versions of this controller
    • I tried the fight pad on Nintendo Wii for super smash ,The button does not work properly it has to be pushed strongly
    • That being said, if you're not in a tournament with a cash prize or your freedom on the line, this is a fine Pad to use for Super Smash Bros, or for playing Virtual Console games on your Wii or Wii U.
    • I think everyone needs one of these especially if you love Super Smash Brothers.
    • the biggest con is the fact i can't do half presses in super smash bros melee in nintendont, yes you heard
    • I got this game for Super Smash Bros. and it works great
    • I bought this to play super smash on the wii
    • Update: you can change what the buttons do in super smash Wii u in the game settings, making the buttons being switched (in that game) less of a big deal.
    • Great for Super Smash Bros.
    • It's super Smash capabilities are on
    • One thing to be aware of, the big triggers on the back are the Z buttons instead of L and R, so your grab and block will be backward in Super Smash Bros.
    • Bought this thinking it was just a GameCube controller that would be compatible with the AC Adapter for Super Smash Bros., like it says on the box
    • I let my 11-year-old son, the real Wii U expert, try this one out; we played a couple of games together including Super Smash Bros and Injustice.
    • It works with every game we have played thus far (Super Smash Bros., Super Mario World, and Mario Cart 8)
    • Works great and makes playing super smash bros way easier
    • The snap back problem doesn't affect my super smash brothers play, but it's quite possible that I'm simply that bad a player, so if you're a pro twitch player don't pay attention to this review...
    • I'll be picking up the Gamecube Controller adaptor for the Wii U when it releases alongside Super Smash Bros for Wii U, but until then this is a great way to use a Gambecube Controller when playing Super Smash Bros Brawl on a Wii U.
    • VERY VERY much.-My Rating for the Product 4.5/5-Some after thoughts :I know that this controller will be compared to the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Edition GameCube Controller (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L3LQ4B4/ref=gl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_img?_encoding=UTF8&colid=36GPRO0M7L6UF&coliid=I396VGY83BGK44) which is from Nintendo themselves (not 3rd party) but I strongly believe that this product still has good strengths to it
    • The pricing of the Super Smash Bros. Edition GameCube Controller is expected to be $30 (pre-order price is $30 but who knows if market price is going to be more expensive or not) and requires a $20 adapter that hooks up to 4 controllers (http://www.amazon.com/Super-Smash-GameCube-Adapter-Wii-U/dp/B00L3LQ1FI/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_img_y) while the fightpad is priced at $25
    • Also, when playing Super Smash Brothers, the trigger functions are switched (However this can be fixed with custom controls).
    • and I tried playing super smash bros with this and for some reason I couldn't jump when I moved the analog
    • what can I say about this its just so great me and my friends gamed with it super smash
    • It works well with Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart 8 on the Wii
    • If you do have a fight game like Injustice or Super Smash Bros, though, this controller plugs right into the Wii remote and works great.
    • It comes out on the 21st along with Super Smash Bros, but Hori has a long reputation for very good controllers.
    • This controller's layout and ergonomics is similar to a standard Nintendo GameCube controller, which is popular with super smash brothers players because of its great layout, and extremely well known durability.
    • Great for super smash!
    • This meant that I could test out this controller playing the Wii game Super Smash Bros Brawl from my Wii U to test just how responsive and similar to the Gamecube controller it is (a test that I am going to say it passed swimmingly!).The one thing to get used to is that the larger, lower shoulder buttons, which were previously R and L on the original Gamecube controller, are now ZR and ZL.
    • Well what does that mean for the avid Smash Bros player?
    • It's great for Mario kart, Super Smash, and Monster Hunter Tri and still works fine
    • I have played super smash, mario kart, and all of my virtual console games with it
    • With the purchase of a Wii U, mariokart 8, and super smash brothers we decided we needed to pick up a couple fightpads (modeled after the gamecube controllers that we played mariokart double dash and smash brothers melee.)These work well, and are very responsive
    • Even though it feels a little lighter than a Gamecube controller, it's a pretty solid controller for playing Super Smash Bros.
    • This means that if you are playing Super Smash Bros with the default controller settings, your muscle memory will have you mistaking which button is for grabbing and which one is your shield, BUT there are two workarounds: either change the controller settings from the in-game options menu to match what you are used to, or continuously use the new settings until you grow used to them again.
    • If you're considering buying one of these pads, it's probably for Super Smash Bros.
    • A must for super smash bros.
    • He's my main in Super Smash Bros. and in Mario Kart
    • Works as it should.
    • Maybe I'm being picky, and I only gave one star off for it, but IMO you just should not have to depress a
