It works well with Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart 8 on the Wii
I got this game for Super Smash Bros. and it works great
Another disappointment is that Smash for Wii U maps out the controls differently from Melee/Brawl and you have to manually change the controller profile to get things behaving the way anyone would intend to use them
I have logged about 8 hours of aggressive Smash Brothers on the Mario and Peach versions of this controller
Although we don't have Super Smash Bros, we have a Wii and a Wii U and lots of Nintendo games that require the classic controller
So you may say I was unlucky but is not that, the box was handled perfectly, the item box itself was in perfect condition but the item was just broken not like it was used for a
My only gripe is how tiny the D
Item as described, shipped fast, perfect condition my son loves it.
Perfect condition, I checked the buttons and everything was right.
joystick didn't work and the post said "in excellent condition"
I just wish there were more Wii games compatible with the classic controller.
They don't replace the GameCube controller for Smash Bros, but this is a good alternative, and it supports more Wii U games than the GameCube controller.
This controller works perfectly, with the ergonomic Gamecube arrangement of buttons making MANY Wii U games more comfortable to play!
I use a GameCube controller for almost every Wii game compatible with it and Smash as well as all my Gamecube games of course
It has lasted and as long as they aren't throwing them when they lose a game it will hold up.
I can't play most of the wii games on just the silly wii controllers so this makes them easier for me to enjoy.anyone that doesn't understand this... you basically have a 2-3 foot cable coming out of this that plugs into your wii controller bottom
This controller is actually a Wii Classic Controller Pro in the shape of a Gamecube controller.
I just wish there were more Wii games compatible with the classic controller.
If the Wii Classic Controller symbol is not there, this controller will not work with the game
My fiancé and I hated the regular wii remotes because we both have carpotunnel and the repetitive motion hurts
Maybe I'm being picky, and I only gave one star off for it, but IMO you just should not have to depress a
For the price, it's a good cheap Classic Controller alternative, but if you have the money, I'd recommend getting the Hori one as it seems to fix these problems and has turbo.
A great alternative for those that missed out on the Gamecube Adapter.
If you couldn't get the Gamecube adapter this is a great alternative.
He bought two of these controllers (the Mario style for me and the Yoshi style for himself along with a Deluxe Set Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U) due to them being cheaper alternatives
To the people who already own a wiimote from the previous gen console Wii, and who would want to try it on their computer with amazingly improved graphics (with the right settings) on the dolphin emulator, and to those who want to play the gamecube games (on the dolphin emulator), wii games, AND the Wii U games with the feel of the gamecube controller (this product also works on Wii U b/c Wii U is backwards compatible with Wii) , I recommend this
The pricing of the Super Smash Bros. Edition GameCube Controller is expected to be $30 (pre-order price is $30 but who knows if market price is going to be more expensive or not) and requires a $20 adapter that hooks up to 4 controllers (http://www.amazon.com/Super-Smash-GameCube-Adapter-Wii-U/dp/B00L3LQ1FI/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_img_y) while the fightpad is priced at $25
Wii U. It looks cool but actually advertising this as Wii U product is a total lie
Fantastic for people who grew up with a GameCube and find the Wii U pad uncomfortable to hold
Got this for my son so he could play Smash bros on wii U and he has played the heck out of it with no problems

Perfect transition from the classic gamecube controller
I bought this on sale to use with the Wii U Smash Bros, and it is a pretty great controller for the cheap price.
The controller in design gives a good look that would sway a lot of classic gamecube players and some people who are looking for another type of controller to work on their Wii U (myself included.)

You can't really pop an analog stick into place if its place holder is broken
If you're using mainly the buttons (far more common), the larger face makes you more likely to bump the C-Stick while you're trying to mash the B button, especially if you have large thumbs
The buttons are fantastic, the control pad is great for virtual console games, but the sticks are so awful they ruin everything else
The sticks are more like the stick on the Gamecube controller, with the Octogon shaped setting
The right stick is not a semi-nub like the Gamecube controller either; it's full size.

PDP has a solid build quality, and the fact that it is essentially a Wii Pro Controller means you can enjoy a wide range of compatibility with other games and Virtual Console
works great good quality works on the Wii and on emulators
Fantastic for people who grew up with a GameCube and find the Wii U pad uncomfortable to hold
This is actually a pretty great Wii U classic controller/pro
Came with a free downloadable Prima e-guide for Luigi, so you may just want to Stop at local Game store, for that bonus.
The top material is hard, glossy plastic and bottom material is matte, hard plastic
However, the material feels like its just cheap coated plastic
The axises on the left stick are extremely unreliable, inputs were sometimes even reversed, the L and R triggers act like gamecube triggers but don't register anything until being pushed in all the way, the list of problems just goes on
Maybe I'm being picky, and I only gave one star off for it, but IMO you just should not have to depress a
The buttons are responsive and the L and R buttons are nice and clicky
Originally, I had ordered this controller for use in playing Smash Bros 4 (as is the usual reason) and it worked great for the most part (the only button problem being that ZL and ZR were grab buttons rather than shield buttons, but a quick control scheme fix solved that), but I realized there seemed to be something "off" when I played with the controller
It feels like a normal gamecube controller and it works like a clssic controller pro\classic controller, this means that it have the ZL\ZR triggers and two bumps, for a total of 4 back buttons (L,R,ZL and ZR); it also have a Start\+ button, a Select\- button and a Home button, and it works great on platformes (like freedom planet) fighting games (smash bros u and brawl) and works great on homebrews
The ZL and ZR buttons which replace the L and R buttons also were a bit more "sunken" into the controller, which may have been what I found was off
The axises on the left stick are extremely unreliable, inputs were sometimes even reversed, the L and R triggers act like gamecube triggers but don't register anything until being pushed in all the way, the list of problems just goes on
To me the plastic feels "cheaper" but I have no way of quantifying that
It's a cheaper plastic third part controller that works just fine for the Wii U.

The plastic on the stick is VARY hard and hurts the fingers, so I'm giving up on that controller
The plastic feels a little cheap (especially the Z triggers), but altogether this controller is great
I swapped it out with the right control stick to see if it was just that one piece which was defective and that stick broke a couple matches later.
Needless to say, I lost the match and the controller is a lot less fun and easy to play with
Maybe I'm being picky, and I only gave one star off for it, but IMO you just should not have to depress a
