I did contact Philips regarding the glue on the earpads, and was told that it is indeed an anomaly, and should not be present

Although it was the older model, the refurbished X2 i recieved did not have the glue on ear pads issue and i was satisfied with the sound

No issues at all, ear pads are not glued

One of the most things I found out were quality control issues, notably the infamous glued earpad examples, but this was during a batch over a year ago and supposedly the issues were fixed since then

I removed the "removable" pads which were glued on very firmly I noticed that a sloppy glue job holding them on

, finally there was no excessive glue anymore, only the loose rings issue persisted

Well, these that i've got have NO ISSUES at all, no scratches,no glued pads, or sound issues

Regarding an issue people were having about glued ear cups and ink bleeding ear cups, mine are perfectly detachable and have NO ink bleed

My only drawback would be the stupid glue that they placed on the ear pad connectors

To top it off, the glue isn't consistent, some of it has actually made its way to the inside of the mesh area where actual sound comes from literally blocking sound being able to pass through consistently

First, let me say that I received one of the headphones with the supposedly replaceable earpads glued to the rest of the apparatus.
