Philips X2HR Fidelio Over Ear Headphone, Black

    • Very natural and three-dimensional sound with excellent soundstage.
    • They initially sounded quite sublime, very clear, extremely wide soundstage and thumping bass
    • Superb, wide soundstage
    • They have much better fuller soundstage and sound better with more genre's of music
    • The HD518 needs EQ tweaking to get rid of the somewhat bloated bass and gain a rich soundstage similar to the HD598
    • Liked the expanded soundstage and open -back sound
    • Well Balanced, Engrossing Soundstage
    • I had always heard that an open can had better soundstage, but I can't say anything jumped out as a big improvement
    • Soundstage while better than DT880 was still lacking in comparison to HDJ-2000
    • They are extremely comfortable, excellent sound reproduction, and excellent soundstage
    • Sound is very pleasant, deep, detailed, great bass (but not basshead), nice soundstage, I'm REALLY happy with them if you can't tell!
    • Those sound fantastic, the soundstage is very large and clear and fast
    • Otherwise these are 100% perfect for me, a young adult in his 20s enjoying some classic and modern music with a headphone that doesn't need an amp and uses any 3.5 to 3.5mm cable to connect for easy conversion into a gaming headset with stellar Soundstage for positional audio
    • I still need to test them with more games, but the wide-open soundstage should make them perfect for FPS.
    • The soundstage in the X2 was clearly superior, with an instrument separation more evident, even having a more laid-back sound, like the band was 3-5 meters more distant than with the HD518 in a live recording
    • Overall, this is one of the best well-rounded, biggest soundstage, high fidelity headphones that money can buy
    • Nice, bassy, great soundstage, COMFORTABLE for hours on end, and sounds great without a dedicated amplifier though it does sound better with one
    • I'd highly recommend this for people who want to soundwhore in gaming but also like having bass and an accurate soundstage.
    • Soundstage is excellent, better than hdj-2000, can't play bass as low and full as Sony, but is good and punchy enough
    • These are so clear, but they're also so punchy, and they have good soundstage
    • Really good soundstage, good accurate base (not the ear rape kind you usually get)
    • Pros: Soundstage + bass + the clarity of an open back
    • Third, and I don't know how to exactly describe this, but the soundstage was not good to my ears at all, it sounded like the music is coming from headphones, you could not be mistaken and think it's coming from real-life, or even full-size speakers in a room; and certainly not compared to the Philips Fidelio X2 or even the V-Moda M-100.
    • The sound quality is rewarding - Huge depth and soundstage.
    • Great headphones, large soundstage
    • Of course the soundstage won't be equal to a speaker system, but it's still fantastic
    • Soundstage is adequate, although not as open as some of it's rivals from Sennheiser (HD 600 and 650)
    • Soundstage was lacking a lot also
    • The wide soundstage is simply incredible for poinpointing enemy footsteps and other subtle noises
    • Soundstage is better than the HD600's
    • I'll start with the positives, they're very comfortable and have a good soundstage so they make good gaming headphones
    • Amazingly clear, very wide soundstage, tight and pronounced but not overbearing bass, mild microphonics
    • The X2 achieved superior clarity and soundstage with a flat EQ (and honestly I think they don't need EQing at all)
    • All the reviews at the time raved about the Sennheiser Momentum, being very warm, excellent high-definition sound and soundstage, the one to get, etc.
    • In my opinion these have a very decent soundstage
    • The treble variation also helps the X2 create one of the best soundstage experiences I have ever had from a headphone
    • The soundstage is spacious yet intimate, and the separation and imaging are great
    • Soundstage is so important in gaming, especially first person shooters
    • Precise soundstage is something you can expect out of open-back headphones, but it also usually means a weak bass.
    • Overall, with their solid bass, great soundstage, and a frequency response that leaves no area recessed, movies, games, and music are superbly presented
    • They do win by a small margin over the HD-650’s because of the miniscule clamping force
    • I definitely liked HD-700 less than 800’s.
    • I really liked the phillips shp9500’s, and these improved upon everything I liked about those.
    • "Holy S***"
    • Well, I sure hope the headphones are "dry", unless they fell in the bathtub ;o)

    • n’t sound like a “high-end” headphone because of that
    • I changed the earcup pads to the XL memory foam size and it was better, but not as good as for example the Sony or KEF in comfort level.
    • Leather covering the headband is a bit more shiny and the Philips Fidelio is embossed a bit deeper on the first unit but not applied as well as on the second unit.5
    • I have a more neutral set of phones (AKG 701s) that I like a
    • (i.e. voices sounded nothing like a real life person in front of you, no way you could be confused as to whether a person was singing in front of you), and it was just unpleasant to my ears, period.3
    • Besides the ones I’ve owned, I have also auditioned their predecessor, the Fidelio X1’s, as well as the
