I used the eraser on the end of a mechanical pencil and it erased the highlighter perfectly without leaving any smudges at all

Didn't like the eraser that required rubbing and sometimes erased the material beneath the highlighter.

I don't think the erasers work all that well, but as long as you don't soak the page, a lightly moistened paper towel or cloth works great for removing the highlighted area, and it's a lot faster and easier than using the eraser
