out of the box, many features are disabled for safety reason.

My work around was to use USB1 as is, and then run my HDMI/USB2 combo to my center console in case I wanted to use the video feature (which is not as often as straight music/phone operation)Lastly as yet another positive feature you are now not as dependent on Pioneer support to update things like CarPlay.

Pretty neat features however I can't wait for the fixes to come out to fix these software issues

Great system, good quality, just would like more features and ability to play videos

A really neat feature is that it also allows you to use the camera while you are driving, so if you have a trailer hooked up you can be driving 70 mph forward and glance at your trailer connection

It is buggy and needs some better features

Having siri text for me and navigate me is my favorite feature, i don't have to look at the screen or my phone, i just say hey siri text

These disabled features include playing video, bluetooth setting, phone dial keypad, carplay map search keypad, firmware upgrade, etc

Likewise the Apple Car play is a great hands free feature.

Over all it beats the stock stereo and the equalizer is a very nice feature

The sound features, like the EQ is pretty extensive, but not as extensive as the older-non app radio version of the Pioneer double dins

Software updates seemed to progressively make the CarPlay system worse and incompatibility became a continuous "feature."After about 2 years of ownership BOTH of the USB ports on this device failed

CarPlay still lacks features in IOS 8

The auto audio configuration is a nice feature - I simply used a microphone that came with my Denon AV receiver and it worked great

I'd highly recommend you Google this head unit and look at some videos, the features are great and it really helped put life into my 2014 Honda CR-V by replacing the OEM grandma radio with a massive knob haha

If It worked as without restarting and the volume issue I would easily recommend this unit to others.

However the issue is, it simply doesnt work as you would want it

There is still some room for improvement in terms of software stability, but it works reasonably well (as to be expected with tech these days) and it sounds great too

This was frustrating when it would crash as you would have to turn your car on and off to restart it when it would crash

I have tried screen protectors and the result is as bad as without
