• Reviews around unit (3.26 of 5)

Pioneer AppRadio 4 SPH-DA120 6.2-Inch Capacitive Touchscreen Smartphone Receiver Display

    • The unit is nice and Auto EQ is a powerful tool.
    • The unit constantly causes issues where it stops recognizing your phone or starts playing music at different volumes or starts skipping like a 90s cd player
    • Great unit
    • Overall, I love this unit and it's doing what it promises.
    • It's a good unit
    • Everything worked flawlessly, went to start the car a couple of hours later and the unit read "SOFTWARE ERROR, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL DEALER"
    • This would be a nice unit if it didn't have a nag screen whenever it's used in Car Play mode
    • The Pioneer is an excellent unit and while the capacitive touch screen is excellent (far better than the resistive), I do miss basic physical controls (volume knob
    • Sumary: terrible UI design, quality issues, and, to repeat, my unit is dead after using it with iOS 11.I will certainly never buy this product again.
    • Freezing/resettingI gave it three stars because it is a good, not great head unit
    • If you are using this strictly for CarGay man are you wasting a phenomenal head unit
    • Really love this unit, the only downside is that it does not have a IR sensor for use with a wireless remote
    • Great stereo unit
    • It does get sluggish sometimes but still a good unit.
    • Overall still a good head unit.
    • It does get sluggish sometimes but still a good unit.
    • The unit looks great and when it works, performs nicely
    • Perfect dash unit to replace the factory unit in my car.
    • This unit does not even support basic Bluetooth A2DP audio
    • In hindsight I would have rather purchased a cheaper Pioneer unit that included the Pandora/Bluetooth integration without the added expense of Appradio and Mirrorlink.
    • The unit i received was broken
    • If you are using this strictly for CarGay man are you wasting a phenomenal head unit
    • Just did the newly released firmware update 1.09 and unit works perfect
    • It is, without a doubt, the worst head unit I have ever had the displeasure of using.
    • hands down 1 of the best units I have owned
    • The Pioneer is an excellent unit and while the capacitive touch screen is excellent (far better than the resistive), I do miss basic physical controls (volume knob
    • If you own an iPhone, buy a cheaper head unit that support CarPlay
    • I would recommend this unit.
    • If It worked as without restarting and the volume issue I would easily recommend this unit to others.
    • Good job Pioneer!Overall a great unit and well-worth the investment
    • I do not know if I had a bad unit but I have sent this in for a refund
    • Great Head Unit
    • After three years, my unit started manifesting strange artefacts all across the screen which rendered it useless during the daytime because it so clouded the display.
    • Other than that the unit is beautiful.
    • Overall, it's a nice unit but the fact that iPhone users have to mess with physically changing cable inputs then going into the software to tell the radio which type of input you're using makes it a bit troublesome
    • However, the unit does exactly what I expect of it (except automatic time adjustments (time zone location changes and daylight savings) it could pick up from my connected mobile devices (either via USB or via Bluetooth).I love this unit though
    • Unit works fine, but now looks horrible.
    • For the past few months this unit started failure
    • The unit looks very clean, performs well, is fast to respond
    • I actually prefer using the head unit just as a dumb bluetooth unit for streaming more than Carplay which is very disappointing
    • $20).This unit has no CD/DVD player and that's just fine with me
    • As a Programmer and a tech heavy person, this unit lacks a fundamental approach to user interface
    • This is a good Apple CarPlay unit for the price
    • Great unit when It is working.
    • Physically the unit looks awesome, sounds great, and has great function
    • below); What should be improved:- the unit does not have ON/OFF button
    • 2 year update:After about 2 years (21 months) the unit quit working without any warning
    • Overall the SPH-DA120 is a pretty decent head unit, I loved the design, ability to set a custom splash screen on start up and the overall sound quality with the head unit
    • This is a very attractive carplay equipped head unit but I have experienced a few recurring issues that have kept me from really enjoying it, and considering the $450 price tag I figured I would share my complaintsOn Pioneer's job-The user interface is well designed, but the response time between hitting a button and something happening is about 3/4 a second
    • I have not used the HDMI in or the AppRadio functions - all I can say is the unit is fast, responsive
    • The delivery and order fulfillment were excellent but the SPH-DA120 unit itself is sluggish to initialize and often fails to correctly interpret verbal commands
    • I love it, it's working as I
