Not quite sure if I am the only one, but the kettle I received is REALLY hard to clean...as in after each and every single use, even without water in it, I need to wash it to get the smell of metal out of it

So dissappointing as otherwise it was a nice kettle and used it daily untilhot water started dripping on my foot!

It is also safe to say that the kettle is pretty easy to clean, just be sure to descale it every once in a while to ensure no other bacteria is getting in the water

All that not withstanding, I do like the kettle, just not the company practices.

UPDATE - After my initial review (see below), the seller, ZN Direct, contacted me, and expeditiously provided a replacement for the defective kettle, and it's working great

This kettle is attractive, has stainless steel elements (I avoid plastics) heats up quickly too

I give this 3 stars because it was cheap and there are no problems actually boiling water, but there are many far better kettles.

This would be a pretty good electric kettle except for one crucial fact: the latches that secure the lid have a tendency not to engage fully, leading the lid to pop open.

When the kettle is cold the button lid release works just fine, but once you heat water the expansion of the plastic when hot/warm prevents the lid release for working very well
