This raiser, however, is all metal, with the exception of the rear leg ends which are hard plastic, I suppose to prevent scratching the surface the raiser is resting on, and perhaps to increase friction at the rear

So when I saw some of the cheaper plastic versions of this type of laptop desk, it got my interest
