Portta HDMI Switch/Switcher 3 Port 3x1 v1.4 Pigtail lntelligent Auto with one Fixed HDMI Cable support 1080p 4k x 2k

    • All devices will work properly, as long as at least one of them supplies power through the HDMI cable and is turned on
    • Since I couldn't determine well-priced, suitable power supply online (I recall the manufacturer-recommended product was over $30 and didn't have prime shipping), I ended up going to my local big-box electronics store and buying a universal DC power supply with different-sized jacks and voltage settings.
    • Will not work with 4K devices as there is no available power supply/adapter.
    • A product that requires power should be shipped with the appropriate power cord.
    • I had to locate a power supply when my PS4 would cause it to "blink" off and on because it was not supplying sufficient power through HDMI
    • Seems like it needs a power adapter (not included) to maintain full resolution without distortion
    • The automatic switching can be annoying when something else powers up/down.
    • Did not work well with two of my devices - apparently needed more power to recognize them when they were attached
    • The directTV receiver doesn output enough power to use this without a power adapter.
    • When using it with my PS4, I would need to have one of my other devices turned on in order to provide enough power (the switch doesn't come with a power adapter)
    • One thing to be careful of is how your devices work when powered down
    • you will need to order a power supply for it to work
    • Cannot detect automatic power on and don't work without a transformer...
    • connected components provided enough power
    • i used this since i added a bluray player to my mom's little entertainment system.previous setup was {directv box} --> {2.1 home theater in a box} --> {TV} all using HDMI connection.new setup {directv box} AND {bluray player} --> {2.1 home theater in a box} --> {TV} all using HDMI connection.the switcher works WITHOUT a power supply like a lot of people have said was necessary.the directv box is usually always on.
    • I suspect it is not getting enough power and it really needs the 5V adapter that it's described as not needing.
    • However, I found that in order for everything to work correctly, the blu ray had to be constantly "On" -- when it powered down automatically (no stand by setting), signal was lost
    • Useless unless I can find the appropriate power source for it......
    • Even without the power cord the remote functions well and the IR extension helps you hide the cables from all of the devices
    • No power needed in most cases, handy little remote, easy for the kids to use
    • but I highly doubt it because since the Switcher lacks a Power
    • -Constant blinking light if there's not enough power being generated through the port-PS4 isn't completely compatible to thisI give it a 2 because right now in this point in time which has been about 2 years since I purchased this item
    • I scrounged up a compatible power source (not included) and completed the remote control feature
    • Old:Just received this product, it's pretty clearly getting power (lights turn on) and I double checked that my displays are providing enough power to the unit
    • RCA L/R Audio Converter | VHD-H2HARCThis all worked fine and dandy except that it took some troubleshooting to realize that this HDMI switch gets powered through the input cables, and although my splitter has its own external power supply the switch couldn't use it as a reliable power source.
    • I bought the generic power adapter mentioned in another comment and it worked fine after that.
    • This was great for seemlessly watching tv, and power on one of my consoles, and jumping right into a game
    • and it doesn't work since the power adapter is missing.
    • I'm thinking maybe there isn't enough power getting to the device from the PS4, and another customer mentioned that they will ship you a power adapter for free, but I haven't been able to find a way to contact them
    • I found that the PS4 signal worked fine with it whenever the PS3 was powered on, so I suspect the PS4 just wasn't sending enough power through the HDMI for it to work properly.
    • I found that the PS4 signal worked fine with it whenever the PS3 was powered on, so I suspect the PS4 just wasn't sending enough power through the HDMI for it to work properly.
    • They both kick out enough power to power the Porrta PET0301S HDMI Mini Switch.
    • It DOES NOT come with the DC 5V Power supply, but works without it if whatever you are connecting it to supplies enough power
    • My low rating is because in my opinion the manufacturer should include an appropriate A/C adapter with this, since it will not function as advertised with several HDMI compatible devices that do not output enough power to drive it passively.
    • I cant find a power supply that works at all i will probably go with a differnt product next time
    • Even when I purchased a power cord the unit never worked
    • my PS4 does not send enough power through the HDMI cable to power it
    • From other reviews I gather this happens because it draws power from attached devices and not on its own because it lacks a power cord.
    • PS3 and XBOX360 works without the dc power but the PS4 does not output enough power to make it work on its own
    • Each on individually, there was not enough power to opperate the device and show a picture on my screen
    • It would be helpful if a compatible power supply was easy to find and reasonably priced.
    • If I wiggle it or move it a little bit, it loses power and I have to mess with it to get it to work again
    • So if you don't have a power supply (like me) you have to have all three of the devices plugged in for it to display anything.
    • You need a power supply for this to work, It should come with
    • after getting the power cord it works just fine.
    • The GeForce GTX 770 in my computer put out enough power to run it just fine
    • Unit would randomly lose power
    • It does not come with a power source, but just to be sure, I plugged it in using a compatible power adapter and it still did not work
    • The fix here was to get another external power supply to give clean, steady power to the switch.
