I'd been having a problem with static buildup while playing records on the felt turntable mat that came with my Pro-ject

While the leather mat did not reduce static buildup it is a great surface for the vinyl and is very aesthetic

I did purchase a second cork/rubber mat that also did not completely eliminate the static buildup when playing vinyl

However, I discovered that layering this leather mat on top of the rubber/cork mat nearly reduced all static buildup and provided the perfect contact surface for my vinyl
