I have had one pencil break when sharpening, but that may have been due to user error because I wasn't paying close attention and turning too quickly

I read a lot about these pencils breaking easily, or some even mentioned that some of them came broken in the box

Think of how often cheap colored pencils break and need re sharpened... that doesn’t happen with these!
