Very dry, wood split and cores cracked

The colors are great but the wood is WEAK

5 out of 72 pencils had cracked wood before use and several more have iffy looking seams that will probably crack

You have to baby them; sharpen in special sharpeners because of the off-center cores (I use the kutsuwa t-gaal); be prepared to put them in the oven if you get one with a completely shattered core ( not, alas, unusual ); some of them have split wood which you can't do anything about

I have older sets that are amazing and the wood is softer are older sets where I am even able to use a box cutter to sharpen them.

I am getting broken leads, and the wood and the lead itself feel inferior

They sharpen well, and the wood seems strong

They will def make you happy you did :D
