Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, Soft Core, 72 Pack

    • What I liked least is that more than half seem to be off center and are very hard to sharpen with a hand-held sharpener; the wood splinters, the point breaks
    • Very dry, wood split and cores cracked
    • The colors are great but the wood is WEAK
    • Each pencil is named and numbered, the wood is soft enough to sharpen quickly and the color assortment is fantastic
    • I see the dreaded wood splitting and lead breaking issues that have begun to plague these pencils since they changed their quality standards - but surprisingly, the lead is also not as smooth and creamy as the older prismas I'm used to, despite what other reviewers claimed about the formula remaining more or less the same
    • The lead is soft and you have to sharpen often, which is not good when the wood is crumbling.
    • The wood is split all the way through in some of them or when i color they basically break easily
    • , the wood is cheap and splits
    • Because I had experienced lead breakage and inferior wood casing on a smaller
    • However, two of the pencils in the box have split wood, which isn't what I expected from this brand.
    • Pencils will not sharpen evenly, wood is far too hard
    • I see the dreaded wood splitting and lead breaking issues that have begun to plague these pencils since they changed their quality standards - but surprisingly, the lead is also not as smooth and creamy as the older prismas I'm used to, despite what other reviewers claimed about the formula remaining more or less the same
    • 5 out of 72 pencils had cracked wood before use and several more have iffy looking seams that will probably crack
    • You have to baby them; sharpen in special sharpeners because of the off-center cores (I use the kutsuwa t-gaal); be prepared to put them in the oven if you get one with a completely shattered core ( not, alas, unusual ); some of them have split wood which you can't do anything about
    • I have older sets that are amazing and the wood is softer are older sets where I am even able to use a box cutter to sharpen them.
    • I am getting broken leads, and the wood and the lead itself feel inferior
    • They sharpen well, and the wood seems strong
    • They will def make you happy you did :D
