Promark H-RODS Hot Rods Drum Stick

    • Overall a great stick to use for times you need to play quieter but don't want to sacrafice feel and speed.
    • Not as loud as standard sticks (I use 5A.)
    • Great sticks
    • A great idea but these sticks are very delicate and break VERY easily
    • These got a little more volume than Hot Rods w/ smaller diameter dowels which I seldom use also, I am old school and prefer sticks and wire brushes to these new fangled devices
    • These are my favorite sticks to play with
    • These sticks were recommended to me by a friend and they're great for the venue I play: church
    • good sticks, little pieces start breaking off pretty quick though.
    • Hot Rods are my favorite stick for playing acoustic sets and they give you a whole new set of sounds to experiment with for jazz and jamming
    • the stick attack is much more pronounced then with solid sticks.they are also not nearly as durable as solids sticks
    • This particular cane is nearly as stiff as a stick.
    • Really love these sticks
    • Also one more thing, these dont bounce as well as regular drum sticks but bouncing them off of a ride cymbal still can (reasonably) be achieved
    • They are comfortable, quiet, durable, and great practice sticks
    • Although you don't get the same bounce as a solid wooden stick, these things are great for soft playing when I don't want to wake up the kids
    • These are great sticks but they don't seem to be lasting as long as they used to
    • As a drummer who battled to be heard amid the walls of sound from my bandmates' huge amplifiers in the 1960s, '70s and 80s, I needed heavy sticks to make myself heard (we rarely amped the drums, but I loved it when we did)
    • I love these sticks
    • Nice sticks for a quiter drum beat
    • If you need strong sticks, just use regular sticks.
    • They sound just as loud as regular drum sticks
    • Don't have to play soft - the sticks do all the work
    • I've played these sticks on stage and they work great
    • Great sticks for practice and for playing live at church
    • Perfect sticks for that "in-between" sound between sticks and brushes.
    • Really love these sticks for practicing at home when you need to play quietly.
    • They bounce pretty close to how a solid stick would, and don't require much more effort than youd normally use
    • These sticks are great
    • These are great sticks with a softer sound to accompany records (of course I still have vinyl!
    • But these would be a good midway point between hot rods and sticks.
    • These sticks are great
    • I don't play hard at all, but I even manage to break one in half, literally! The advantage is that they are not as loud as regular sticks, and for jazz or blues, R&B or any other unplugged session that requires low(er) volumes on drums, these are awesome
    • I remembered those cool sticks I used in high school and thought I'd give them a try.
    • good sticks, little pieces start breaking off pretty quick though.
    • If you need quiet sticks, this is not recommended
    • they aren't as loud as his normal sticks which I like.
    • and or other musicians without drowning them out with loud stick sounds
    • A great idea but these sticks are very delicate and break VERY easily
    • Awesome sticks.
    • Good sticks, holding up well.
    • Grandson loves these sticks.
    • They are very well balanced sticks
    • as loud as 5b sticks
    • Good price for my favorite sticks.
    • these do as you would expect, i have to say they could be used as "proper" sticks (as in to use for gigs etc or at church etc) as they really bring out the brightness out of the cymbals and give a good warm sound from the tomsafter some heavy use they started to break as you would expect but they are definitely worth it
    • Great sticks
    • Perfect stick for quieter songs
    • Great sticks, delivered on time, only issue with these is that they break easily sometimes (however, this is to be expected when using the light and slim wood)
    • much quieter then solid sticks
    • These sticks are perfect in this setting
    • well i'm not an aficionado.these "sticks" are both longer and heavier then most traditional solid sticks
    • Nice and thick sticks, but have found the volume to be similar to regular sticks, so rarely use them
    • These are good quality sticks, and they shipped fast.
    • Great sticks for smaller venues or when you don't want to overpower the band while playing heavy
    • they are wider to grip (which i like) so you can use more of your hand.they don't rebound nearly as well as solid sticks
    • Love these as a quieter option than laying with standard solid wood sticks
    • I love Promark sticks but these rods fall apart after a month of using, break up far too easy in my opinion, would not buy again, the vic firths are WAY BETTER.
    • Just like they say: when regular sticks are too loud and brushes are too quiet, these are right in the pocket.
    • So, it goes to show the smalls sticks begin to lose their tenacity, and with that, its volume and "heaviness" when hitting the drums
    • These sticks are great for practice and playing softer songs
