The mahogany wood is beautiful, and it is easily playable right out of the box once it is tuned
-
The mahogany “satin” finish is porus, so the back of the neck is not quite as smooth as on an instrument made with finer grained wood.

Solid wood instruments crack and split easier if not properly handled and stored

Great uke, I got it on sale, but would be worth it even for $100+!• Great sound, comparable to more expensive ukes• Beautiful top layer, nice wood grain pattern• Sturdy construction (laminate)• Much better than "toy grade" ukuleles

The wood is solid, and I'm not afraid of warping or cracking it during normal use
-
This is a beautifully crafted ukulele, nice stripped wood grain top.

I always like when the dark and light wood grains invert as you shift the item around
