Reolink 4MP 8CH PoE Video Surveillance System, 4 x Wired Outdoor 1440P PoE IP Cameras, 5MP/4MP Supported 8 Channel NVR Security System w/ 2TB HDD for 7/24 Recording RLK8-410B4

    • 4MP HD Outdoor 2TB Hard Drive Night Vision RLK8-410B4
    • For starters I heard a lot of people having problems with the hard drives on this unit failing within several months
    • There are 10 TB hard drives today, so I'm not sure why there is a 4 TB hard drive
    • Chose Reolink because they offered a local hard-drive (NVR) to store videos instead of having to pay a subscription to Nest or Amazon to view the recordings later on - saving money long term.
    • This product is shipped with a Toshiba desktop hard drive
    • Reolink 4MP POE, 8 Channel, 2TB Hard Drive, 4 CamerasI have a like and dislike relationship with this camera system.
    • The last thing you want is to find out that the footage was corrupted because a desktop class hard drive was used
    • Going to contact Reolink CS and see if they can help me out with this issue, as I would like to keep the system if possible.-----------------------additional review------------------------So reolink customer service flat out refuse to acknowledge the hard drive issue and won't replace it for a real surveillance unit
    • Perhaps I do have a bad NVR and if I end up sending it back, I am just going to get a refund since it might be that they are using poor hard drives
    • Just search surveillance vs desktop hard drive and see for yourself
    • Also playback on the actual hard drive is clunky and not very intuitive.
    • , with max bitrate of 8192 kbps.===HARDWARE: STORAGE===- It comes with a pre-installed 2 TB Seagate Surveillance Hard Drive
    • It's a desktop hard drive, which can lead to a quicker failure rate
    • Hard drive stop workin two month after purchase
    • They put in a hard drive that has been rated/marketed for 24/7 use in surveillance systems
    • I might get around to seeing if it's possible to reuse the included 2 TB Seagate hard drive using the eSATA
    • Even with this inconvenience, for the quality of the cameras, large hard drive space, ease of use, and low price point, I would recommend this kit.
    • I also saw reviews of being able to add additional hard drive and run the one that comes with it along with a secondary
    • so I reformatted the hard drive several times with no success I downloaded and installed your firmware update to the NVR with no success I tried adjusting the sensitivity from the most to the least sensitivity each time walking in front of each camera back and forth to set off the motion sensor but still none of the cameras would send me an email alert or push alert and only one camera would send me an email alert but even that camera would not send me a push alert to either my PC or my android phone or android
    • was very disappointed by the hard drive that's included in the NVR
    • I had to get a USB extension to go from the hidden hard drive to my desktop monitor
    • Even with this inconvenience, for the quality of the cameras, large hard drive space, ease of use, and low price point, I would recommend this kit.
    • I would have given this system 5 stars if it had a proper drive in it
    • The Reolink system has twice the resolution, 4mp vs 2mp, and includes a 2tb hard drive, and I had to purchase a hard drive separately from Amcrest, and Reolink includes 4 long ethernet cables, which Amcrest did not and I had to purchase seperatly.
    • He tried the wireless and recommended I go with the wired due to the bandwidth required to stream to the hard drive and due to reception issues with metal soffets on cams installed in the eaves outdoors
    • The answers from the Q and A section state this should be a surveillance hard drive
    • Desktop class hard drives are NOT made
    • It turned on and I was able to see everything on the VGA monitor connected to the hard drive
    • After several attempts of reformatting the drive I emailed Support.
    • The only issue is the very noisy cooling fan inside the hard drive unit
    • The system kitcome with a Network Video Recorder (NVR), Power Over Ethernet (PoE) cameras, hard drives and all the cabling needed, is a very attractive proposition
    • I unbox the unit, check to make sure the hard drive is either Seagate or WD Purple as stated on the Q and A from reolink customer service, and it's not
    • Reolink states that the NVR can support up to a 4 TB hard drive, so I replaced the system with a 4 TB Western Digital Purple
    • I would have expected a surveillance class drive, but no, this is a standard desktop hard drive with very iffy reviews
    • Reolink states that the NVR can support up to a 4 TB hard drive, so I replaced the system with a 4 TB Western Digital Purple
    • I wish it had a bigger hard drive or one that is easily replacement
    • It may be possible that my unit somehow got an incorrect hard drive
    • It came very well packed, but despite that, the hard drive arrived with the "click of death" and was totally dead by day 3.The nail in the coffin for me though, was uselessly awful night vision.
    • The hard drive, as usual, generates the most heat
