Very unhappy with this Rexing Hard Wire Kit Mini-USB Port.

I'll be looking for a different hard wire kit ASAP!

But right now it seems to be working great.4/13/2018 - Final Update:After vigorous testing my final recommendation is this wire is no good for me at least

The power input for this hard wire kit blocks the rear camera input of the VL1G.

Ground wire has a crimped ring lug And hot wire with a mini fuse.

A good wiring kit, plenty long!

One thing I would suggest to Rexing on the hard wire kit...attach the usb port in the opposite direction.

Like most, I'm a neat freak in trying to avoid dangling wires on my 12v sockets; With this hard-wire kit, I was able to quickly direct the wire behind the car molding using an old credit card in a matter of minutes

The quality of this product is good with exception of the undersized power wires that run from the 12v power source to the USB 5v converter box thats in the middle of the cord

The Hard wire kit itself was great, it just didn't match up to GMC Sierra where I could use it to hard wire the Rexing V1 3rd Gen into my truck..

If you plan on hard wiring your Rexing dashcam, this is a must.

All the wiring is generous in length.

This hard wire kit may work for some Rexing dashcams, but I purchased the new VL1G with rear view camera and built in GPS logger.

If anybody purchases the Rexing V1 I highly recommend to go with this hard wire kit.

In fact, my mobile electronics shop thanked me for showing up with the hard wire kit designed for my unit.

I am able hard wire to the fuse box since my cigarette 12 volt doesnt turn off.

Rexing should update this product with minimum 18AWG and preferably 16AWG power wires

It's also worth mentioning the unit I received did not match the picture and was hard-wired to one side of what appeared to be a 15A mini-ATO fuse (it was blue) covered in a rubber boot

Otherwise the hard wire is a must have for continuous, uninterrupted power.

I had to cut the red wire w the fuse hard wired though

I had trouble figuring out where the wire to the camera came from as far as which side of the fuse terminals so that if one puts the fuse in 'wrong' the camera has no fused protection since it is possible to insert it so that the wiring would stay hot even during an overload event.

This hard wire kit was relatively easy to install, but I personally find the kits that have the wires separated towards the bottom (black and red, separate ground and input wires) for more flexibility

Plugging this hot-wire contraption into an unused fuse slot would either route the power thru what appears to be a very oversized fuse or bypass it altogether

One thing I did do is cut off the 15 amp fuse that is hard wired and put on an add a fuse as I want this to be a separate circuit from anything else I'm running.

Wiring to the fuse box seems a pain as the fuse box cover would need to be modified so as not to pinch the wires and to allow the cover to close

Simply locate hot and ground wires ten connect them together

This wire is a single solid wire from end to end, but towards the end where you attach it to your fuse box there is just a wee bit of wiggle room.

Excellent kit with more than enough wire for 2009 toyota highlander and very easy to install so it cannot be seen.

The USB plug is a 90 degree plug that is backward; it points the wire down from the unit rather then up towards the headliner resulting in a loop of wire hanging down.
