Very cheap plastic but works just fine.

It does have a glass globe with a plastic base, like the original (though the plastic is more fragile than the original, but something had to give at this price point)

Smells like nasty crap plastic, and the smell is really strong.

The ball is made out of glass, but the rest it's pretty cheap plastic

The base is made out of a cheaper plastic but it still works fine.

This product had a terrible plastic smell.

And it was made out of cheap plastic it is also very small and makes a low but annoying hum.

Of course, keeping it on 24/7 is not good for it and will cause it to burn out -- so as long as it's off when not in use, it'll keep looking amazing
