But I never expected these $20 a pair G.E. tubes to have the best overall tonal balance across the frequency range
There is no need to spend $$70 on three different driver tubes that I tried including a pair of Sylvania driver tubes I picked up for $14.These G.E. tubes are really great and have a terrific full sound as well as great tonal balance

My buddie also bought all the tubes I mentioned as well as a pair of Vostek and a second but different pair of Mullards to see if they could top the G.E's and not a single matched pair out of 5 different pairs of tubes could beat out the G.E. tubes sold here for $20.So to save you the trouble of guessing at the best driver
Great replacement driver tubes for the 6J1 pair that come with the Little Dot Mk II.
They are by far the cheapest price point and they are also the best sounding driver tubes I could get my hands on!
Hope this review helps out a few people looking for the best driver tubes and ignored these because they are G.E. tubes from America, where tubes are not known for great sound
MKII.That said the G.E. tubes were by far the best sounding driver tubes out of the three pairs I bought and they were also by far the cheapest

They portray a seductive quality to the midrange along with outstanding image width, depth and specificity
Bass was clearer and more pronounced while more complex music was more defined and with better imaging.
Great imaging and soundstage, excellent excellent balance from top to bottom
The amp is paired with Centrance Masterclass 2504's and has a very level soundstage with good imaging.

Greater bass response, no loss of detail (than the stock tubes), and everything is a bit clearer, broader frequency response
The original tubes sounded dry and lacked dynamic range, but these make everything sound more natural and improve bass response as well.
I can get great bass response from either headphone amp which is great
The mangi lacks good bass response and the Little Dot MK II does as well because it's a tube headphone amp

I believe these tubes are the perfect match for my amp hooked to my Audeze Sine(planars) and ATH-ESW9A (dynamics)

I replaced some chinese 6j1 tubes with these and began to notice a significant difference after they had about 20 hours on them

5654W tubes were originally designed as a low noise premium-grade substitute for 6AK5 and EF95 vacuum tubes
