    Rock Band 3 - Playstation 3 (Game)

    • Why they could support a vocal/keyboard/drum/guitar (or bass) combination but NOT a vocal/keyboard/guitar/bass combination staggers me.
    • -Annoying cutscenes the game forces you to watch before and after you play a song in quickplay-Learning curve for pro guitar is a little high if you aren't used to guitar-Keyboard can be a little difficult on harder modes since they try to implement left hand into the right hand part-Some of the background animations get a little too flashy and distracting-Weak set of songs from the 90s/2000s-Certain keyboard heavy songs lack sufficient guitar, and vice versaSorry for the long review but in short it is a pretty big evolution in the rhythm industry and with the introduction of pro instruments and keyboard it definitely has appeal to professional musicians and still has appeal to casual gamers since it also has non pro modes
    • GH remains the significantly better (plastic) guitar/bass experience.4

    • $150 is a lot less guilt inducing than another $300+ guitar sitting around collecting dust.
    • Overall I love this guitar
    • All the instruments (with the exception of microphone) can now be played in "pro" mode, which they tout as being more realistic: Pro-Drums require the cymbals expansion; Pro-Keyboard has you playing actual notes ("normal" keyboard simply uses the keyboard for the ol' green-red-yellow-blue-orange gameplay); and Pro-Guitar requires either the new Fender Mustang Controller (a "realistic guitar controller" with 102 buttons and 6 actual strings) or the yet-to-be-released Fender Squier Controller, an actual guitar you play the game with
    • The ONLY way that you can have these combination of peripherals work is if you enter "All Instruments Mode" which will support 2 guitars, a keyboard, a drum set, and your vocalists.
    • learning a real guitar will come easier if you actually have the Squier guitar or play a real one after mastering Expert mode
    • I don't own the keyboard or the expensive new guitar controller, so I don't have any input
    • I love pro guitar as well as the pro drums
    • The Pro Bass mode uses the guitar as well (or so I've heard), which seems pretty stupid, but whatever.2
    • After nearly 10 years of rhythm instrument based games, Rock Band 3 decided to take the first step away from plastic five button guitars and a cheap bar instead of strings to now actually having a realistic looking guitar with full frets and strings to pluck as well as the first game to introduce keyboard
    • My son and his friends would watch us, hysterical as we pounded out bass on a Boston tune
    • The guitar + bass + keyboard combination appears to be the kiss of death; it WILL NOT WORK as of 10 / 30 / 2010.
