You no longer feel like you're playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero

Not just with Rock Band but Guitar Hero, Frets on Fire, and all the other clones

The songs it does have skew very heavily in the metal/classic rock direction.

From all types of genres to punk, alternative, metal, rock, classic rock, country, pop, classical, folk, indie, even some R&B and Rap

There are now options to progress that often go by genre, instead of countless pre-made setlists, I find myself choosing things like "random progressive rock" or "custom metal."

Many more features, instruments, songs, and overall attention to detail make this the best Rock Band yet

YAY Rock Band

Gone are a handful of really enjoyable rock band 2 songs including Spoonman and Battery and Rock Band 1's Dani California.

Me and my pals were Rock Band 2 crazy and loving it!

SO... this is a very good rock band I love it

In order to accomodate keyboards, you get alot of 60's/70's classic rock and 80's hair bands.

While I personally like heavier rock (and thus enjoy more the GH setlists), it's hard to argue with the variety here
